hi guys just a bit of fun! at my farm at we have a horse called nobby and one called norman! in past we also had one called plank:)
what wierd names have you got
pictures to the names would be fab!:)

My mums cob when she got him he was called Noddy & its got it on his passport, but she soon changed his name when she got him lol. I have heard many wierd names :p

I've had a grey Anglo Arab x Connemara who was grey and I named Foam. A Doberman bitch named Witchcraft. A Bull Terrier x Bull Mastiff named King Wally Bonza the Charismatic or Wally for short. An Australian Stock Horse mare I named Freedom. My Jack Russell Terrier was named Chunky when he was given to me. Ugh!!! Luckily he wouldn't respond to it and my daughter named him Sasuke. (Sars kay is the best pronunciation that I can up with.) The cat is Haku. (Har koo). So if there is an animal to be named in my family, there is no chance they will be given a normal one. They have to already have one.

I can top all these so far....when I was 14 I went on a riding holiday to the Heart of Wales Centre. My friend rode a grey (arab x?) called.... PEABRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My ex race horse was called Blucanoo (hence the forum name)
She was know as Nan, it stuck when i bought her.
But people did get confused when i spoke about her!

Perry Perry - due to it being his name and my last name!
Rain-Beau - we mane is up, known as Beau
Wizzard - not unusual but had to mention him!

Snake.

There's a lady in one of the monthly magazines with a horse called Snake and it makes me shiver everytime I read it.

Two of my cats are called Norris and Trevor

My sister has a cat called Trevor too! Solo Trev to be precise...

We have an ex-racer called Frank who's track name was Gyrate! Poor boy...

When hubby was young his next door neighbours had a cat called Algernon!:D

We had a lovely chestnut mare called 'Glaring Godzilla' that was her racing name. She was given a far more mundane name when she came to the yard. Hideous name though, what on earth were they thinking?

I've had loads with funny names. Wall eyed Wally my first little grey pony gelding, D'jango 12.2 dun pony who always jumped out gelding, Midge welsh mountain pony grey mare, Minton 14.2 grey gelding, Pinker 14.2 dun mare, Bucket 16hh bay gelding.

I have heard of someone who calls their ponies. TWIX,MINSTREL,ROLO lol
My boys were TOMMY (changed to Major) and BILLY (changed to Sirrocco) RIP boys.

Shuffles and Kashka

Some of the more unusual names I've known:
Bullet
Brussel Sprout
Chocolate Box
Shelly
Mr Sandman
Waffles
Norman
Suzzie
Champion the Blunder Horse
Pernod
Sceptre (my mum named that one!)

I also have a ginger dog called... Blue! He's a rescue and came with the name.

A huge appaloosa (coloured not breed, I don't know, she was spotty) mare called Scary. That's one that sticks in my head.

We also have a grey ex racer called Noodles.

Im often told my two boys have odd names (dante and hywi ruin) i like them (well i chose them lmao!)

but i have had a horse on loan a great big 16.3 shire cross nasty horse called muffin, i mean why would you call a horse that knowing the size its going to make, not to mention its male! lol i know a girl who has a mare called muffin and it suits her perfectly! lorde knows what was going through the mans head when that name popped up when the foal was born lol!. He is now called stan how ever as other people felt the same as i did apparently lol

Some of the more unusual I have known:

Sexy - huuuge coloured shire cross cob
Cuddles - fleabitten grey sporthorse
Surprise - dapple grey ex racer
Hippo - very smart bay cob cross

. . . and when I was horse hunting tried a big chestnut gelding (by It's the Business) called Buckaroo (he did too) and an ex racer called Elvis.

P

Know quite a few huma names: Patrick, Winston, Jeeves, Hanna, Bess, Matt, Walter, Ellie, Jake, George, Dave, Timmy, Toby

Know quite a few weird ones too - Red Willie (I mean come on!), Biggles (dude of a horse), Chompy, Trip (and he did used to "trip out" - he was PTS in the end as he got so dangerous), Pee, Chuckles, Buckalina (luckily cos she was a buckskin!).

Knew a few Teddy's and they were lovely.

However stay away from RUDI's!!! Both I knew were little s***s!
