wierdest horse names youve come acroos!:)

At my yard we have alot of liveries with what I would call "Human" names.
Sean, Jerry, Jack, Jake, Cara, Penelope, Stella.
We also have Batman, which is brilliant.
and Dobbin, who's the smallest pony on our yard :3

I have a moody, bossy, grumpy chestnut mare who came to me called.... Sandra:eek: Her owner was also called Sandra:rolleyes: She is now known as Sandy, although it's made her no less grumpy. :D

Leroy - a black gelding around the time of Fame the TV series.

Teabag and Kettle both British Sport Horses - I bought Teabag, Kettle was his brother.

An elderly Shetland called Mr Pastry who is the yard mascot.

Thunderpants - name of a cob at my friends yard.

Both my share horses had odd names. Bear, who was a 16.2hh French Trotter and not very bear like and Gandalf, who was chestnut, not grey! Then there was Tank, who although tall wasn't very tank like. Tiger, who was totally black.
I'm sure I know more but can't think of any right now.

One pony called Picasso as it had a nick out of its ear and one Percussion as it was skinny rescue case, was called Xylophone but this was considered bad taste!

When I was a child, my sister and I went to three different riding stables.
Near Aston Clinton yard there was a shire called Little Elf.
In Hartwell, two bays called Mr Smith and Mrs Smith, a Toe-a-sock, & a Dumpy (fat grey pony) and more I don't remember.
At Wendover Stables (Bucks) there was a beautiful grey called Wendover :)

My first pony was a dales x called Cedric lol the name suited him though! My horse names get no better though, i named my foal who is now nearly 3 Stewie but he is known as Stewpots lol, daughters is called Mr Pickles which is quite cute for a small cute pony, shame he is an irish sports!! I just call him Mr P hahahahaha! x

Onslow
Wally
Nesbitt
Anton (The name finally settled on after Willy and Cobble were dismissed - along with some 4 letter names on a particular day when he decided lunging himself was more fun thatn someone holding the line several times!!!)
Fool (was never properly named, fool developed when foal was no longer appropriate)

My favourite from many years ago was a lovely Fell called Doris :D

I was unfortunately only 11 at the time and when i was told we were going to see a horse called Doris i laughed like mad... it was their horse and they were not impressed lol

Tutti Fruiti (poor gelding!), Spud, Barry, Twinkle (another gelding), BJ (lol!), Geoffery....

ETA - and Foal, for a horse who is now 5

I recall going into a dressage at a BE event when in the SJ ring the commentator announced beejay was on x penalties or whatever....most off putting! amazed they got that name registered!

I've known a few with weird names they were welsh cobs and usually given the weird names by they're owner

Thornyside Flyers Fashion - Ethel

Caeifor Brenin Cyfrws (jealous King) - Sydney,

Rawcliffe Yorkshire Rose - Yorky

she has tamed a bit with the stable names she now gives her horses thank goodness

All (in my eyes) of the broodmares at work have good nice names, all but one! I feel really sorry for her, Ruff Shod, it isn't pretty nor flattering and as she is at the bottom of the pecking order I often wonder if the others take the P out of her name!?

When I was buying one years ago I tried one called "Doughnut":D

When I was a kid my mum had one called Mowbraymahrajee - we called him Spider.

I'll second the welsh cob thing - my friend discovered her w cob's mum was thorneyside The Terminator (which made a lot of sense, given the temrinator-like behaviour of her w cob!!!).

I once bought a pony whose name was Ugly. she really was, but still!!!! I changed it to Treasure which suited her to a T, and she became a total star.

I saw an article in a magazine once wiht a horse named Fugly, whihc is even worse!! poor sod.
