After loosing the littlest dog a few weeks ago, although never said its just a fact that I'm a small dog person and one day I'll have another.
Not yet as its too soon and I still miss my little man very much, I don't ever want to feel I'm replacing or whatever!
My worries are firstly ive noticed recently as I guess I've taken more notice in little dogs (in the hope I can pick one up and have a snuggle!) Some are SOOOO yappy and this is really something I couldn't cope with! Is this avoidable/trainable or do certain breeds yap more than others? My dog just wasn't a yapper naturally, He'd bark to guard his house like the others but not for no reason.
Secondly The two labradogs will just love any puppy. The madder and more playful the more they will love it, they are not a problem....But new collie might be. She seem's not to be 100% with other dogs and although has never snapped does get a bit growly with them. The labs are big enough to fend for themselves but I worry a puppy might not be.
She has has a few litters and been a great mum, don't know if this is a relevant fact!?
I see so many adverts for puppies stating they need a home as current dog isn't happy/ they are not getting on. Do these people not give enough time? Maybe they don't introduce properly or will some dogs just not accept a puppy?
Like I say I'm not talking now, maybe next summer but am a bit worried!
