With decent quality modern footware the risk of slipping on a deck is minimal. Modern deck shoes / boots really do grip like whatsit to a blanket. Add to that great care is taken when moving about on deck as a slip at best is likely to end with a soft but very wet landing. Riding certainly puts constant pressure on knees so probably best to avoid.I don't understand why you can't do some dressage? Ok, it's not horseball, but...
Surely the risk of slipping and twisting the knee is much greater on a boat? Ergo, if you can sail, you can ride...no? <g>
