Window shopping....

Competed under Prissy Girl. Apparently quite successful in the showing world - Royal Welsh Show, other local shows. But google is silent on that! If people want to do some digging.....

God my cluelessness is depressing! I'll pass. Is there any online resource or book that helps people learn how to assess a horse's movement and conformation?

Can someone please explain what they are seeing if they don;t mind? I see a horse who is green to a fence but does not mind what shot she is on which suggests genuineness. And who has scope. And who is being held in flatwork but moves quite nicely, to my eye anyway. For a horse who has done mainly showing I thought she had potential.

I will PM you as not fair to critique someone else's horse in public really

I don't know if this boy would be your cup of tea but iirc when he was up for sale in December his ad made him sound like a very nice easy going boy. The breed are meant to be very biddable and easy, he ticked every box I was looking for at the time but unfortunately was out of my very limited budget:

I can't see any photos of him jumping or a video but I thought I'd seen one of him making a nice shape over a fence somewhere... He's looking a bit scrawnier now than in December but he's definitely something a bit different!

Absolutely love curly horses ??

AE, when I was hunting I very quickly discovered that I was as dumb as a box of rocks in terms of making a sensible assessment of horse flesh ??? Don't let it get you down, there are some supremely wonderful peeps on here that will give you some good, if often brutal ???, advice xx

Have a look at Em Scho on Facebook shes a bit of a small time dealer/producer but shes a friend of a friend and she seems pretty straight. Shes got a couple of nice youngsters in off the top of my head not sure if shes got anything older but she makes sure they get some miles under their belts before she sells them

There is a ridden-horse shaped hole in my life so I have started window shopping. (For me a vague intent to start looking on a Monday can be a new horse settled in by Friday as if I see The One I want it NOW) So if anyone wants to help me look, feel free to make suggestions.

It is very frustrating that I sold Deedee who would have been perfect!! But selling her on made total sense at the time, she went to a great home, it was a huge relief and we don't have crystal balls. It is what it is. Sigh.

So anyway: My budget is about 4K. My hopes are for a 'spare' horse to tide me over for a year or 2 while Amber is recovering and then sell on so a sane, safe (sellable) horse who is still good enough for me take eventing and have fun on for a couple of seasons. Age 4+. 15HH +

Prices seem insane. I have sent pms to a few and they have had several people reply that their lightly backed and ridden away 4yo Connies or Connie X horses are 8K. Dolly was half that just over a year ago at that age. Not sure if I got a bargain with her (it still seemed quite a lot to me for

So I am now looking at Ireland. Any thoughts in Irish Sport Equine? Anyone know them? There are a few posts but mixed feelings on here. Dodgy Dealers seems generally positive.
Bought Sunshine from them. She is really really beautiful, but quite a bit greener than advertised. She has a sweet temperament but is a bit spooky. I definitely do not regret buying her, but I would probably not buy another pony from the seller. (Bought Sunshine as a 7yo unseen).

Has anyone here met a Bashkir..??? They don't really feel like you imagine them to. I've never ridden one but a few years back a friend of mine bought a lovely gelding as she is allergic to animal hair. Sadly he died due to a field accident but he was really lovely (bloody should have been for the price too...!!!!???)

This one looks quite sweet, sounds like the seller is a dealer/sales yard but might be worth a look. She's also very pretty (and I don't usually like palominos)

I like the look of the horse but I don't especially like the tone of the ad. She sounds exasperated with buyers before I've even started! And if she's a dealer I would want to know who so I can check her out but I can't see who she is or where she works. Which is a bit odd as she says she likes good reviews so why not link to the business so people can read them!

But I know other buyers who are much happier with calls than endless messages by people who are just day dreaming so maybe I'm being over sensitive!

Anyone know the yard/seller/horse?

Yes I agree it is a bit off putting, I almost didn't post because of it, but the horse looked so nice... I didn't try googling the number because my detective skills aren't a patch on most on here so thought someone would probably find out pretty quickly if there was anything untoward if I posted! Tbf though, I do know some people in real life who have a weird tone in adverts but are actually perfectly lovely to deal with so ?‍♀️
