Today Chilli and I had a dressage competition. We entered the Prelim 2 and Novice 27. I had gone through my Prelim once in walk and trot. We came a respectable 4th out of a popular class
I hadn't gone through our Novice at all. Next time I will be more prepared! I made a couple of silly mistakes that could have been ironed out with more practise. Anyway, I felt that under the circumstances (lack of practise, my wonderful anxiety issues and warming up outdoors in the lovely leftovers of Mrs. Storm Doris) we did a couple of reasonable tests.
Which is why I was so pleasantly surprised when we won! Yipee, winners winners chicken dinners
This winter has been a real slog and a struggle at times both mentally and physically but I'm so pleased I decided to move Chilli to work so we could continue to work over winter. The past few months have been a real learning curve and I am so happy it all seems to be paying off.
Excuse her orange HorseLick nose
Another couple of pics:
I very much agree with the judges comments of needing to be more forward and more supple. We will get there!
