Ugh! returned to winter here with snow and sleet, grim.

Anyway, here's hoping it will brighten up a bit. What's everyone got planned?

Kira has a show on Saturday, just a straight PSG trying to get a few qualifications sorted ;) That's it, how boring :p Might take OH's mad spaniel for a walk to pass some time, having only one to ride is dull! Oh, probably do a bit more electric fencing for the oldies, trying to keep Millie contained is a full time job at the moment

Arena hire tomorrow. Last week I said I had no plans to jump any of the WH fences, and jumped most of them. So I'll say it again and maybe I'll jump them all this time ;) That's about as exciting as it gets here. Unless I decide to take Dae to a little hunter trial on Sunday...

Good luck with the quals - I sympathise on the escapee problem, I had issues with Dae for ages!

I live for the day I can say “just a PSG....” 🤣

I have a SJ lesson Friday pm , first for several weeks. We are STILL having issues with control. End of February I did an arena eventing after he’d been on holiday livery for 2 1/2 weeks and despite the lack of exercise / turnout he was (comparatively) well behaved (clear round more or less in control). Took him to same class a couple of weekends ago and he was very strong / cheeky - yes we jumped clear but had to circle as brakes not working. Hoping to have more regular SJ lessons to try and crack this nut.
Flatwork lesson on Saturday .
Good luck MP, AE / Jenny, JFTD, Mcfluff and have fun everyone

Scoring for Eventing Ireland Tyrella on Saturday - fingers crossed for a day as good as we had 2 weeks ago. Forecast is decent so here's hoping!

Wee day off on Sunday so I'll probably try and give my horse a jump, see my nephews, and generally mooch about a bit- it's been a while since I've had a day to do that :-)

Good luck everyone!

hahahaha well I still have to pinch myself, lol! i really want to get back to doing some Inter 1s but can't do 2 tests at this level in one day so will have to be patient :p I'm loving the music classes too but there are so few within reasonable travelling range, it's very frustrating!

Taking Topaz out for a (hopefully) low key outing to ease us back in (last competed in Nov), so just a Med and Adv Med as they weren't running two Adv Med and do not feel quite ready to do our PSG yet!

Excellent prep of being poorly so have only ridden once this week though Topaz had the grace to carry on being fabulous, (MP if I stick her in the post do you fancy a feisty grey? :p), plus snow, sleet and hail here, I want to go back to hibernating brrr.

Did use my enforced house rest to jazz up my comp jacket with new collar and points, might attempt some cuff trims too...

I can post again!!!! Denzel isn't due back off holiday livery for a few more weeks but have booked the arena where he is for a groundwork lesson to start getting us both back into the swing of things.

Instructor is brilliant at in-hand classical dressage (have seen her work with other horses on the yard) sympathetic and works but takes no nonsense so very excited to see how D responds. Hoping i'll learn some stuff to take forward with him as well.

Good luck to all out and about and having lessons and doing things! AH I love that jacket!

I'm taking son and pony to arena hire this afternoon, to have a go at a very spooky WH course.

We then have a WH competition on Sunday afternoon.

Unfortunately my pony is coughing, already had one vet visit, where he found a thorn inside Fionn's cheek, but sorting this hasn't stopped the cough, so vet thinks we might need a scope 😭😭

Very fancy AlexHyde! I like.

If all goes well in tonight's lesson (apparently he felt a bit stiff yesterday so need to check he's feeling a-ok), off to a baby ODE on Saturday. No doubt will be up against the teeny tots again (oh, the shame) and it's an intro test due to the height which doesn't suit us as well, but another chance to see how he goes xc. Will have a better warm up but I suspect we may have some initial napping again which I need to work through. Have fun everyone!

AH that jacket is gorgeous.
Fiona hope your pony is ok. What would a scope be looking for?
Bernster hope you have a great day.

Good luck to everyone out and about.

Hope pony is ok. I have nightmares about thorns, have hawthorn and buckthorn in hedge, the other day mr H snatched a twig of hawthorn, I removed it from his mouth and it had huge thorns that no doubt he’d have scoffed. Ps sorry for rambling...

<wraps pony in brown paper to pop in the post to MP for a holiday> you can send her back when she's just doing psgs ;)

Good luck everyone out competing, hope the weather isn't too rotten. And big shout out to DF trotting and JFTD definitely not jumping wh fences!

I am dull and have no plans yet. I'm pitching my ambitions somewhere between trotting and wh fences on two horses, and somewhere below trotting on the other one .

I promise that one day I will endeavour to do something of a weekend that is vaguely worth posting

I'm just back from 20km (across 2 sets) of gale force winds, hail and pissing rain. God bless the British spring, huh?!

My sensible orange pony had a total twit moment of squealing and leaping while being led from my idiot pony who behaved impeccably  Then I took Daemon out and managed to sneak over some xc fences before it got dark :D

This return to winter is horrible! I’m happy to say that I had already decided to give Indio the day off having had an excellent lesson with Matt Hicks yesterday.

Hopefully we’ll put it into practice on Sunday for an Ele and Medium. I’m so bored of E53 now, it’s the only Q test on around here at the mo and it really doesn’t suit us at all! Oh well...looks like we can do E57 the weekend after. Hopefully we get another regional score and improve our Medium too. I’m feeling the pressure as Indio has been feeling so good!

Have fun all and try to stay warm and dry!

Today has been awful but managed a quick soggy hack. I'm hoping for better weather on Sunday as we are doing our first fun ride of the season at the Cotswold Farm park. Nice tiny, very tiny jumps for DP who is terrified of anything rustic and larger jumps for B who will be in full on hunting mode at the sight of XC jumps.

Good luck to everyone competing.

To take a fluid sample to test I believe, also I imagine can check for foreign bodies on the way...

Have only txt with vet so far, hoping if he can't come tomorrow that I can have at least have a chat on the phone.

Fiona

Good luck everyone.

I'm at a local show doing some working hunter practice, M&M class is only 60cm (I can't believe it's 'only' 60, I would've been so scared of that his time last year!) so also doing the intermediate (80) although I checked he could still do it in his native state!

Still waiting for my box to be fixed, person who came to look at it has decided to fall off the face of the earth so giving it a few days from my last message then will try and find someone else. Luckily I can still use it, just can't prop it open so he can't stay on the box and have to hold it up for entering and leaving!

We have our first working hunter show on Saturday... Rocky places well in hunter classes but is a spooky one when it comes to jumping so it could all go bottoms up on the jumping side of things - they put a few photos up of the jumps.... oh heck they are scary!!!
Sunday we have a dressage lesson bright and early at 8:30 amo_O

I'm getting some jumps out tonight in a bid to try and get him over some scary things before tomorrow.. just purchased some scarecrows and plant pots from the shop.. wish me luck :oops:

Good luck to everyone competing I hope the weather is okay and this rain buggers off!
