Since I may not be able to get to Badminton, I was wondering about going to Withington this weekend instead? Is it a good event to be a spectator?

I haven't been for several years but it was one of my faves to ride at, had a good atmosphere and the fences were meaty enough to be quite interesting 
Assuming the course follows the same route you could see quite a bit without having to walk too far.
eta just looked at the entries, I'd say it would be a good one to watch!

For a regular BE it's not a bad one to watch. XC viewing is pretty good and they run an advanced class. All classes would be top end of difficulty.
I'm not sure you could entertain yourself all day though unless particularly keen!
Shopping is minimal etc
