wood chewing - preventatives ?

Hello
Have a horse who chews fencing - any tips for preventing ? Just read post about painting horse poo diluted in water on, anyone any experience of this ? Horse lives out so don't want to have to keep buying a product nearly everytime it rains -unless very cost effective. Thanks

Have you thought about cribbox . It doesnt wash off in the rain . My boy doesnt chew the wood he just cribs and the cribbox seems to work for months

Good old fashioned creosote plus a metal strip on the top of the wood.

Electric fence tape or there is a feed supplement called Quitt which is really good. A small scoop in to daily food stops them chewing within a week!

i put electric up to stop bey but she just pushed it down so i had to take her rugs off.she was literally eating them rails!
not sure what i will do this year-field too big to run tape/wire on every rail with the screw on insulators(but would be very effective!!!!!!!!!!)
wont jeyes fluid wash off onto the grass int he rain?
