Had a great weekend away at a flyball comp. Saw Weevil with Sprocket on Saturday.

Skye went into top team as they were down the fastest dog, we weren't expecting them to win anything, but they all ran really well and got a fastest time of 18.34, so really good, they had declared 18.00 with the fastest dog.

Star had her 1st Starters comp, thrown in at the deepend, didn't think she'd be ready yet, she's only been picking up the ball a few months, done 3 full runs at training (1 of them was at a demo), never ran with dogs in another lane or done a changeover. She ran last dog and didn't do tight changeovers, more because the 3rd dog wouldn't take them, only the 1st training run did she think she could go try and chase the other dogs, didn't think she'd get to run, but when 1 of the other dogs were getting a bit stressed, she was put in and she ran perfect all day. Her team came 3rd.

Enough chat, here's the pics of the weekend.

Saturday. The top team, 1st dog, Mitch, Rottie x Flatcoat x BC.

It was nice to meet you - and glad you managed to have a good weekend in spite of the weather and missing dogs.
I had a bit of a nightmare on Saturday as Sprocket totally lost his confidence for some reason and refused to run beyond the first jump before coming back to me :( (think a bit of remedial training for wimpy mummy's boy is in order:rolleyes:). A couple of our other dogs also had issues so we just had to accept that we were never going to be competitive, but at least they did eventually manage to get 4 dogs up and back (and someone has to come last!)
My club had a much better day on Sunday and managed to achieve their aim of running sub-19 seconds and getting all of the starters to run up AND back :D

At least we now have a good few weeks training before our next competition...

It was lovely to meet you too.

I'm sure Sprocket will get it, he just needs a bit of confidence and experience.

When's your next competition? I'm at Honnington in a couple of weeks.

great to hear how you all got on and love the pics and very well done. (even Sprocket as it sounds as though he got the idea at the end, bless him.
We had a great time at Acremead and managed to dodge the rain and hail. On Saturday Jess ran in our slowest team, seeded 5th and we won. Skye's team was seeded 6th and came 3rd so a great day.
However on Sunday I ran Monty. I couldn't get my changes right at all! Got 2 lights in succession in 2 consecutive races. Monty was brilliant though and didn't put a paw wrong.
In spite of my incompetency our team (seeded 6th) managed to somehow come 3rd so all the dogs brought home a rosy.
WE're at Mottram in a couple of weeks then Acremead again. Hope to meet some of you at one or the other.

I'm sure we will. At least he wasn't being naughty - he was just a bit worried so fairly easy to deal with (hopefully).
On the plus side, I found out that he got his FD at Kineton over easter so am very pleased:D

I think we're next out at Brentwood.
