Hi All, looking to bulk buy pellet bedding, who are you all using now? Looking for best price, but must be on the white pellets not the slightly brown/red ones pls. Thanks in advance for the help!

i use Swift Energy in the South East (Kent). Work out at about £3.60 a bag if you buy a pallet. pellets seem nice so far!

I am about to order a pallet from White Horse Energy - they have 5% off at the moment before 1st November so worth doing early to save a small amount of money! Never used pellets before but after a messy mare on shavings last winter determined to find something else!

Just had my first delivery from White Horse Energy of Platinum Plus. Slightly worried by split bag reports but supposedly new bags nowadays so problem solved. Ordered Tuesday and pellets arrived today - excellent service. Pity about lorry driver - foreign so possibly some language barrier - but pallet had been split into two for their convenience so wrapping all undone and as I wanted to store outside that was not overly helpful. Nor what is more was the driver -- basically this is where I will put them and then I will drive right through your stable yard at full speed. Lucky all horses safely in their stables! One hour with my tractor and a helper & we have put one half pallet into barn out of rain and wrapped the other one in heavy duty cling film. I will see what the pellets are like to use before I decide whether to repeat the delivery nightmare!

I've found Platinum pellets are really good but the delivery is very poor. I've ordered these pellets from White Horse 4 times now. First time the pallet had collapsed & bags were all over the lorry floor. 2nd delivery driver was an agency driver. The bags of pellets were ripped & contents had spilled over the floor again. The driver very nearly demolished the gate into the yard with poor driving & his language throughout was foul. 3rd time pellets appeared to be all good but when I got to lat layer I found the cling film packing was holding the pellets in. Fork lift had smashed the top of the pallet & ripped the bottom layer of pellet bags. 4th delivery didn't arrive. I waited in for 9 hours but no lorry arrived. I called the delivery company & they assured me it was out for delivery. My final call to them revealed they'd loaded it onto an 18 ton lorry & it couldn't negociate our lane. This was after ordering a 7.5 ton lorry for delivery. The load finally arrived the next day at 8.45am, without any telephone call so they were lucky I was in to receive the delivery. I found out from the driver that the company had actually lied to me the previous day, the load never went on the 18 ton lorry. The driver of that lorry refused to load the pallet because he knew where we were & told them the 18 ton would not get up the lane.

Each time White Horse have been spoken to & have made various good noises about sorting things out but they never have. Poor service all round really. Their product is good, the cost is ok but if there was an alternative supplier & delivery company then I'd go to them! :(

My delivery totally failed to arrive on the allocated day and time slot, was rebooked for a different slot and then arrived the next day, after the failure, when I was elsewhere! They called me to see where to put it, when I was at work. It then didn’t end up where I wanted it, as no pallet truck.

But it only took me and a helper about 20 minutes to move an entire tonne of bags into the barn, and restack on pallets. It is only 65 bags? I’m not sure how it took 2 people, and a tractor an hour to move half a tonne?

All the pellet companies seem to have poor delivery! LWP were repeatedly delayed, and then delivery issues.

White Horse Energy!!!! I used a different discount code of FloJul9563 for my first order & got 5% off - better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick eh????

Ordered from nature's best bedding. They are reasonably local and do smaller deals. Ordered 25 bags for me and my friend to trial as never used pellets before. Came a few days after ordering so no issues with delivery. Not put any down yet so can't comment on quality!

I use White Horse Energy Platinum Pellets as well. Really excellent with a particularly messy mare. First delivery was a bit of a nightmare, as the truck driver crashed into another livery's pick-up, but White Horse were very good in helping to sort it out. They outsource their delivery to local firms so I think it depends on how good the local firm is as to how good your delivery experience is.

Hi,
I've had 2 pallet loads now from White Horse Energy. I've used their 'platinum plus' pellets as these are the white ones. I've been really pleased - with both the bedding and the company. Its nice and easy to order & delivery is quick too.
I have a discount code which you're welcome to use: watnic15290 This will give you a discount on your first order with them.
Just to add that I don't work for them - just a happy customer! My requirements were the same as yours: cost (bulk buy) & white pellets!
I hope this helps :)

Careful, I shared my discount code on here and got an infraction from Admin.

How amazingly wonderful you are wingedhorse to move all your bags in just 20 minutes. You say you are not sure how it took me and a helper an hour. This comment is made knowing nothing about me or my yard.
Well, I am well into my pension age and suffering from an auto immune disease that has attacked my muscles - I cannot lift very much.
My helper was not much younger.
The tractor does not have a fork lift attachment - just a muck fork on which the prongs did not line up with cross timbers on the two broken pallets that had been delivered.
A considerable number of the bags of pellets were split and we did not want to lose more than necessary.
The barn was about 100 yards from the place where the pallets had been dumped.
I do hope this explains why we are not as superhuman as you yourself.

I also use white horse energy. Had no issues with delivery, pallet arrived safe and sound with no splits and I was very happy :)

As someone else said I believe they use local regional delivery so depends on your area?

Another just purchased from White Horse. No split bags. I wasn't here when it was delivered but don't think there was any issues.
Not put a bed down yet as the horses have just been coming in for a bit in the day so just got a thin shavings bed.
Look forward to putting proper winter beds down! (That's a bit sad isn't it ;). )

This. I've had two orders from them and both were delivered by local companies. The first time they split them onto two pallets as they said it was loaded too high and was unstable. They also said it was impossible to drop the pallets where I wanted as the door was too low (and there was only room for one anyway) so we had to move them all by hand. A bit of a pain but not the end of the world and far easier than stacking bales of shavings. The second order arrived on just the one pallet which was dropped exactly where we wanted it, and where the previous company had said was impossible.

I ordered mine from white horse too. The pellets are fab so far but delivery was a disaster. The pallet had been damaged at one side so was stacked against the headboard of the lorry to stabilise it. This obviously hadn't worked and the pellet bags had tipped out all over the lorry floor. The driver already knew this when he arrived. It took me with a variable muscle condition that can put me on crutches, my mum with dodgy knees, my 2 oap grandparents and the driver 20minutes to offload and tidy up the mess as there were split bags. There were 9 split bags and plenty to sweep off the dirty lorry floor (think shards of wood and plastic mixed in). About 3 bags worth were unsalvageable and were refunded by white horse. Its a good job they don't charge for delivery or I would have wanted that refunding too!

Pellets arrived this morning, got a phone call to say they were on their way and would be with me in half hour, I wasn't going to be in but they left them where I asked. All wrapped up so despite the rain not getting wet. Ordered on Friday afternoon and delivered today.

My pellets arrived safely. Phoned before they came. Only problem was dispute requesting a small lorry due to lack of space a huge one arrived. This made it difficult for the driver but it was ok.
