ive voted full time hobby (dont work) as its the nearest to my situation.

im at home 24/7 with 3 little ones (3,2 & 10 weeks) & the ponies are for the kids to ride, me to drive & for my sanity & health (working better than an of the anti-D's they have pescribed)

I put full time hobby although in reality I only ride twice a week as I dont work but have two young children. I ride when they go to nursery / school and do jobs before they wake up. Horses are kept at home as well so much much easier. And yes totally agree with Aoibhin - they are what keep me sane!

Most of the time I study but when I am working, it's not with horses really but it's also not a non-horsey job either! I work selling riding holidays so I talk/think about horses most of the day, I just don't work directly with them unless checking out a destination.

So, I have a sort of horsey job and keep my own. :)

I don’t actually work with horses, but do keep the horses where I work. So I’m popping in and out to them all day long. I also work flexi so can have my riding lesson in the day, and in winter hack out in the day when there is light. I have it easy really. :D

My extremely demanding job is with children and the horses are what keeps me sane. We keep ours at home, so that makes it easier to fit everything in. My sister and I can cover for each other, if one of us has to work late.

i work full time as a teacher, and currently keep 5 ponies on DIY, 3 are mine and 2 are my friends... And yes they are the only thing that keep me sane... :D

I'm jealous of a lot of your situations! Wish I could work flexi time! I have a non horsey job and work 8-4.30 and have my own horse on DIY but my YO does services so they turn her out in the morning for me and bring in before it gets dark in the winter. So I just have to go up in the evenings and at weekends.

I used to work full time with horses, own three and share a fourth.
Now I work full time in a non horsey job, have two part time contracts, and own three horses (one of whom is on box rest at the moment).
To be honest, my work life balance sucks.
S :D

That last option made me laugh:D

I work long hours in an office own 2 horses and compete lots - the only way i have managed to keep a reasonable balance is by having sharers - that way i get a couple of days were i can just see my OH or friends and do housework and normal stuff. Its so easy to become totally consumed with horses and although i love them im very aware that i need to seperate myself sometimes.
I dont know how people work with horses all day aswell i find the horsey world far too bitchy & strange to be too involved in too much!

i voted non horsey job and no horses but thats set to change in 2 years. I am buying a horse and going into the equine industry lol!

I did know a police officer who had 2 horses with his OH (also a police officer) who joined the mounted branch and came out after about 2 years, saying that he needed his home life to be different from his work-life.
