I shall be picking up a youngster on sunday and will be putting him on a worming programme, my question is I plan to start him on a 5 day panacur guard and a tape wormer on the 6 day as this seems to be the usual advice. I bought the wormers today explaining what they were for they agreed and I went home happy knowing that the youngster will have a good start with me.
However my friend has also bought a youngster from the same place, she planned to do the same, she sent her daughter to buy her wormers but went to a different shop and they looked at her like an idiot and said do you want to kill him or what ! She felt a bit of a fool and walked out. so what would be your plan of action. Both youngsters are not grossly underweight, but do look a tad wormy I would much prefer to feeding the youngsters than feeding worms. So who is right, I have always started new horses with this worming plan.
