Worst names (horses)!

Merrylegs, Snowy, Blackie and Spot are the worst ones.

The best ones are; Meg, Sidney, Fintan, Pollyanna and Merryweather.

our hunt master has a horse (former grade A SJ) called Noddy. his proper name is temple something or other....

I saw 2 percherons at GYS this year whose stable nameplates said "my name is Earl" and "my name is Steve"

Poppet - you can guarantee it won't be.

I used to know a Rodney, and my friend's brother's foal is called Boris

My sister used to have a little chestnut mare called.... wait for it.... Copper Mill Hubba Hubba Yum Yum. we called her hubdub.
We also had a lead rein pony called china tea (who got called teabag)

ETA
A pony I clip is called Nancy (and she is).

When we were in Ireland the other week OH had a horse called Peter Pan, and the other was wonder boy. I had hagrid and Frodo (tho they're not so bad as names go)

I knew a lady once whose husband bought her a lusitano gelding for a wedding aniversary gift. She let her two year old daughter name him - she called him La La.

Horse on my yard are called:
Gorgeous
Lawrence
Neville

I'm not wild on my girls' name either, Velvet. her first owner was 14 and I think had watched international velvet too much. I never changed it though as she comes when called. Every one told me it would be bad luck as well.

My horse of a lifetime was called Dirty Gertie when I bought her! Quickly changed it to The Chimaera! First pony was called Mrs Smith! A friend had a grey which I thought for ages was called Carton but eventually found out it was 'Cotton'! A gorgeous chestnut cob I used to groom for was called Towpath!

My grey horse is called Father Bob. His full brother is called My Friend Paul. I think his breeders were having bad days when they picked the names...

I sometimes see a lovely horse out eventing called Ich Heisse Peanut and I wish wish wish I had thought of that first!!!!

My friend / TYo has a thing when naming her horses that she cant use any name shes EVER known from a previous horse, person, dog or anything else for that matter. Makes her choice of names for horses somewhat unique to say the least

The worst I've heard has to be:

Across the High Man...

As it was a point to pointer, the Weatherby's profanity filter slipped up rather. The commentators seemed to enjoy though.

Think it's name has now been changed at the request of Weatherbys!

I know a horse called Eric, and a polo pony called Bob. Bob's a good name for horses generally, but when all the others have lovely spanish names, Bob stands out a bit!

We've got an andy at the moment and a heron and a turbo! There was a rambo and in the past I've known Eric (coolest pony ever - didn't have a tail so used to waggle his stump!), Emma (which would have been fine except the owner was also called emma) and Fish!!

At the mo my lot are called:

Titan- Mr.T
Morning- Ashfield Morning (don't ask

)
Barley- Barley Boy
Sammy- Sammy

Buddy- Royal Companion

Haven't really got a worst name, but I did use to have a pony called Wonky, which I feel is the coolest name of a pony i've had so far

I wasn't too keen on Scooby's name at first, but I didn't want to change it and now it's growing on me. We had a horse on livery for a while whose name was Tupac, which was truly awful! Especially since he was a gorgeous blanketspot appaloosa HW cob - he needed a magnificent name. We also have one called Buck, although he tends to get called Buster more often. He doesn't buck though.

Oh, and we had a gorgeous pretty little Sec A called Mervin!

had a pony when younger named lady, she was anything but would dump you of as much as she could. She never did learn a great deal of manners.
Daughters current horse has the unfortunate name of French Kiss and my boy is Benny.
