Would Anyone want to loan a Yearling??

I'm worried about this coming winter, can't have 3 horses at home as circumstances have changed so one or two have got to go.

I'm thinking maybe I should Loan Pixie out for a year or so as a companion but is anyone likely to want a 2 year old cob on loan?

Thoughts/ideas please?
 
Some people may want to loan a young horse to keep their yearlings etc company and allow them to play and be babies for a bit?

My friend bought a yearling a few months ago, and instead of keeping it with her much older riding horse, or buying another young horse, she loaned a yearling from a friend. It all worked out well as loaner got rid of her yearling for a bit and loanee had a happy filly with someone her age to play with :)

Last year at work we had 2 colt foals but one sadly died, so boss loaned 2 welsh section A yearlings to keep him company. It may take a while to find anyone especially this winter with hay prices etc but I guess it can work!

HB - That's what I was hoping really, that someone would want her to keep their youngsters company.

MosMum - We are near Hereford on the welsh borders, if she went on loan I would want her to stay quite local really :)
 
Certainly - why not?
It'd be great for someone who for whatever reason just cannot have a horse of their own, but wants to see a horse from very early on grow and be brought on :)
 
I think they would. I think you'd have to be quite careful about setting boundaries like whether they are allowed to do things like lunge her/take her for little walks down the road or anything or if she is to just be a field companion though :)

That's what I would worry about C, I don't think I would want them doing much in the way of lunging but I wouldn't mind if they wanted to walk her in hand or take her to local shows.
