The bridle I want to get for my gelding is only in stock in his size in brown... I've always favoured black tack but wondered if brown may suit my dark bay. Here he is:
I use brown (its v dark as quite old now) on my brown mare. I do have a black bridle too for everyday use, but it really doesn't suit her, in my opinion.
I have a gelding who is a similar colour in winter, and he suits both black and brown tack. I've used havana browns and oak/red browns on him and he looks nice in both.
It’s just a colour, personal preference.
Personally I much prefer dark brown on pretty much every horse.
Agree with greys and blacks pulling off black tack the best.
Bear in mind havana is actually slightly lighter and redder than most people realise, what most have is dark havana. A good dark brown suits all horses IMO, the dark brown I sell is actually pretty much the same colour as so many "black" horses that it looks better than black, and brown leather can age better, none of the grey-green you can get with some (even some premium brands) black saddles.
