I wouldnt. I had one of mine done about 15 years ago (maybe methods have improved?) and it was awful. He went ballistic as it obviously hurt like hell. As a result, the mark is barely noticable in full. I cant read what it is anyway! I wouldnt put another horse through that TBH.
I would microchip. And then put a big sign up somewhere on your hard to say they'd been chipped (to put off robbers).
