Would You Say This Horse Is 'Scopey' [FINALLY working!!] take alook?

Ditto, get it wrong on a hot one and you end up like this :(

It hurt. A lot by the way!
Hands up, it was my fault competely, I took a check which I never would do with her on the corner coming into it,which she objected to and ran through the bridle and rushed. Over-rode it to compensate, she finally realised there was a jump there when it was too late and ended up....well, as you just saw!
Many a few years back that video and was a one-off with us, think it was the only time I ever actually came off that mare. She's only about 14hhish and would throw her heart over the fence for you, she took me up to going round 4ft+ courses bless her cottons, but would also do ele dressage, fly round any XC put in front of her...you name it she'd try her heart for you! She was my pony in a million. :)

This pony is just about the hottest thing to sit on you will ever find. Very similar to Ebony and we worked long and hard on the flat before going anywhere with her. Looks easy? Take it from me, the rider dare not move a muscle and is just about the only one to be able to ride one side of her.

Here's a video of them schooling at home...sorry for the judders, it was done on a camera. (Small X at end is what they always finish over) She's 14.3 and jumping 1.15m (Seniors) with ease and success. The preparation has taken over a year and she was 11yo when she came to us. Always hot but not had any 'bad' riding beforehand.

Wow, that is the nicest bit of riding I have seen in a long time! Super pony, and that footage is just so lovely to watch.

your horse looks like its going to be a nice sort and i love the breeding...i've watched the video that was posted in MAY...and she has either come on in leaps and bounds for you to be thinking of doing a newcomers already or you may be pushing the horse to much ...get your four british novice and discovery's...do them and work up the grades...the horse will be much better for it and so will her bsja record...we do loads of bs all around the country and different places have all sorts of different fences and builder's who have there own way of putting in trouble fences in there courses to catch out the less knowing and they will catch them out...but keep going..she has a pop in there bring it out slowly

For gods sake people I really think some of you are being a bit horrible. What’s the point in going over and over the same things that were written in the first page?? Ok so she needs to do some practice, don’t we all!! At the end of the day she didn’t ask if she needed to practice she asked if we thought her horse had enough scope to jump newcomers.

It seems to be that if people aren’t very articulate in their typing then it’s just a big old excuse for some good old bullying!

Agree and disagree with the above S :)

Doing BS (oh i hate the abbreviation) is both expensive and challenging and i personally wouldnt like to see anyone out of pocket or overfaced and losing confidence just because they are trying to run before they walk.

OP clearly adores her horse and SJ and should be encouraged. As she is clearly local to me then i would suggest she goes to Blewbury for their next BS intro day and have a go. That will give her an idea of how an affiliated course looks quite different to local shows. It also gives a chance to try her horse around a course without committing too much time and money. I hope she flies round with a double clear :) even the top riders have lessons and thus suggestions that she has some are not nasty more a reminder that you never stop learning/improving if you try :)

Thank you - I didn't expect such appreciative comments, though I think they are 'together' enough to illustrate what I mean
