Thank you to all of you that offered your kinds words and support. Yesterday was just the hardest day but I couldn't have wished for her to have gone anymore peacefully than she did. The sun was shining and the weather was just perfect, she had a bucket full of everything she shouldnt have had and lots of grass. I screamed like a baby but at the same time I feel relived now she's pain free and the worry has gone. Her stomach had started to get bigger again and the vet looked at me and said "this is the right time". She went so quickly and peacefully, even the vet was surprised how quick it all happened.

I have kept her shoes and her tail so I will get a bracelet made like I did for my last horse. It's so so sad knowing she's not around anymore but I know it was for the best.

Considering the recurring nature of your mare's issues and the vet's recommendation, getting her scoped might be wise despite the cost.
I know your a new user but you should really read the whole thread because you are then aware of the current situation as sometimes some situations can change.

Thanks so much everyone for all of your kind messages. I can't believe it'll be week tomorrow since she passed away. It's been a total whirlwind of a week......
It takes a while to sink in doesn't it?

It sounds like you made exactly the right call at exactly the right time xx
