it's a shame that Wow don't always have the mechanical horse on their stand, because it does give a better feel of how the saddles are to ride in, though obv not as much as the real thing 
Years ago I had a sit in a wow at Badminton on the mechanical horse, and literally said 'Wow!'. It was so instantly comfortable and put me in perfect balance that I knew i'd have one if the horse liked it.
I've picked some bargains up over the years - have owned 4 but down to 2 at the moment, one was bought new about 8 years ago and one very old bought 2nd hand for £250.
If I ever come into money I'll upgrade to the new mega lightweight ones. I was disappointed by the solution stand at YHL this weekend, they didn't seem remotely bothered in talking to customers which was disappointing as I was curious about them. Not for my horses, just cos it's interesting. I thought I'd find them quite uncomfortable as the twist appeared rather wide and flat.
