By the way, lots of tack room remake images looks like you need lots of money, but I tried to stick to those that more looked like something you could perhaps do after buying a wardrobe, or storage system from IKEA, and add a bit of DIY.

I didn't plan on posting more, but then Pinterest said We noticed you where looking on this type of stuff yesterday..., and I saw some ideas I missed yesterday.
Instead of kitchen pole + hooks for hanging bits, here's a Peg board for bits:

A bit luxurious perhaps with a shelf for grooming totes

An idea for the rugs

And another, using hook clamps

Great idea to use the cabinet door to help getting your boots off, but white doesn't seem like the most practical colour

Sorry, the last picture is so long, I'm using a new image storing site, haven't found a resizing option on that site yet.

I just remembered. I use an old long boot for whips - its partner died and I hate to throw anything vaguely useful away! I've used a whip so rarely recently that I'd forgotten!

Sounds like great recycling, probably more environmental friendly than pvc pipe.

You could place your ex long boot turned into whip stand somewhere more visible, and say it's deliberate interior design. Or if you drilled the long boot stuck to something/stuck it down a rubber band hoop/attached it to a velcro strip, so it can't fall over, you could take a picture of it, and post it on Pinterest as a crafty recycling idea.

@VioletStripe If it wasn't for the Coronavirus, I would have said that if you do happen to come for a visit, maybe I could offer a little combined sightseeing/dog walk. Who knows, Coronavirus hopefully won't last forever.

It's on my bucket list for the next few years - I would love to. I wanted to go for my landmark birthday this year as my birthday is May 1st and I would love to see the celebrations... however it will need to wait for another year! I will have to drop you a message when I eventually do go!

Haha, I was actually thinking, next time I have a pair develop a leak, I'll screw them both to a plank, paint the whole shebang a nice colour and see what else I can store in boot number 2! You could get really fancy and use unmatching height boots for short whips, long ones... about as crafty as I ever get.

Tash88 recommended a Facebook page in a reply, but I have neither dared, nor had the time, to have a look on it, because I keep finding stuff I want to share on Pinterest. The trouble is that getting the pictures from there, to HHO, often takes me a bit of fiddling around.

If anyone is interested of storage suggestions for inside the stable, due to small, or non existent tack room, I've seen a post on HHO where someone with a very large stable, simply had an ordinary tall, rectangular tack locker inside their stable.
But if you have a very large stable, depending on the stable layout, perhaps you could sacrifice the space in one corner, with the door to the corner tack room, either opening up inside the stable, or on the outside

Size could of course be varied, using the whole corner, or part of it.

Don't think I can find much which beats that suggestion, so I'm not even going to try. Instead I'll continue on to some other ideas I've seen, like a hanging canvas organiser which isn't only meant to be used indoors, but like this one from Professional's Choice, can also temporarily be used outdoors

Talking about outdoor hangers, found this Halter Hangar, comes in 3 versions, here is the Lite, and Mini versions, they also do a similar thing for keeping mineral/salt licks protected from the weather

Going back indoors, to avoid saddle pads etc slipping off their hangers, wrap some vet tape/wrap around the hanger

To help prevent mould on tack in storage boxes, put any silica sachets you happen to get in your storage boxes

A DIY collapsible saddle hanger, important that both wood, eye bolt + hook is sturdy enough for the saddles weight. If you put up some extra eye bolts in different places, you can easily move the saddle rack, or put up an extra

If you have any no longer used old brushes in your tack room, maybe screw them up on a wall, or a pole, to make a DIY horse scratcher
(Sorry, it's another long image, so I saved it to last in my reply)

ETA I know I offered sightseeing, and dog walk @VioletStripe , but to be honest it would probably mostly be the later, because I'm probably the worst possible guide. Lived here all my life, but still glad every time I manage to find my way home again when out on my box trike.
The dogs are cute, and people friendly though.

Yeah tall cupboards are great.
Here's my tack room pre-tidying, job for later ? blue metal cabinet contains all the regular use stuff that needs to be kept dry and dust free: riding boots, hat, spare coat etc plus vet kit and junk drawer ?
