My YO logged onto my facebook and read private messages between myself and my friend (who also keeps her horse at this yard). Anyway he didn't like what was been said as the main topic of conversation was about how the yard is run and what pisses us off.
Now this conversation lasted over an hour, we were just venting, and a lot of things were said that would never be repeated.
Anyway he came to me today and went on about it, and how he was so disappointed and upset with us. well yeh he would be, we didn't hold back.
But
He went on to my face book account and sat for two hours watching our convo....is that not worse? After all it was a private conversation. and if you lug into other people talking you generally don't like what you hear.
What the hell was he doing on my face book??? I am wrong in thinking that is way wrong...snooping in my private messages??

How did they log on to your account? People can't read your private messages or your chat. If you were posting on your wall then more fool you really. You need to watch what you say on open sites like that.

forgive me i know nothing about facebook! how did he see your conversation - did he hack into your account?

I know you are peed of and quite rightly so but tbh let this be a "lesson" (if thats the right word - im not being arsey) and dont talk about people in the written form!!!

How the hell did he get on your FB?!!! I would be angry!
As for bitching to your friend, everyone does it I'm sure! (well I do.. me and my friend vent our anger to each other about the yard, that way the things that were making us angry are a bit more managable)

Thats what we were doing, getting it of our chests so we don't carry it around like baggage when at the yard.

So he guessed your email AND password ?
My YO wouldn't even know what email provider I used, let alone guess a random made up email address.

Looks like he should be working for MI5, not as a YO :D.

Oh yes, I do agree it is out of order and I would be spitting feathers.

Everyone vents to there friend via either text of PM. The emphasis being Private, he has no right snooping. Pity the News of the World is no more, he could have a change of career and work for them.

Its actually not that hard to hack FB really, how many of us show our contact email address in our profile, which is usually the email you log in with & how many of us use things like horses names etc as passwords? I realised all this after my partners FB was hacked, so went & removed my email address from view & changed my own password.

He is a bit of a techno geek and he has knows email address, would that be enough? and as for my password I have no idea, as I said he is a techno geek.

Oh, and If they have 'hacked' in to your account then more fool THEM! Doing things like that then you're bound to come cross things you're not going to like. If this was me then I'd tell them it's their own fault for being that nosey they bothered to go to those lengths!

Do you think he may have only said he knew about the PMs but really was bluffing to find out if you would confess when really he knew nothing?

We have 3 laptops in our house and if my daughter is on her facebook and talking to her friends on chat, and she asks me to go on her facebook to feed her monsters ( so both in her facebook at the same time) I can see her chatting to her friends on chat! Its live and pops up!

So thats how he saw it in live time.

Have you ever used his pc to access your facebook, he can put a password catcher on it! xx

down right out of order and I would leave the yard, you have every right to bitch to your friend in private!

i would confront him tomorrow and ask him straight how he got into your account, then inform him that hacking is illegal, talking about him and his yard with a friend is not!! while it may not be difficult to hack into FB it doesn't mean it is acceptable! just out of interest are you under 16? if so i would be telling him that you will be contacting the police as hacking into your FB makes me think he is some kind of pervert preying on young girls!!!!!!!! even if you're over 16 it is still a little worrying:(

Yeah change your password ASAP and your password on your email account, he may have a password catcher on his laptop or he may have struck lucky and watched you put your password in orrrr his laptop may have stored your password, what a dick!

Evesdroppers never hear nice things about themselves, i would go mad on him

Id be having serious words! That is a complete invasion of privacy! when i log on from a different computer it asks me to name the device that is being logged on from and then i get and email to my personal acount saying a login attempt from xyz computer. If it wasnt me then i know someone has being logging in! I would be savage!

Yes I have... to show him a pic the other day, but I logged out...***** if he has done that it is way off line.

That's what'll have done it. Certain browsers save any log ins and passwords used in their settings page. It was very wrong of him to do that. The fact that he felt the need to suggests to me he knows there are problems with the yard and snooped expecting to find something - much like a suspicious partner would snoop trying to catch out a cheating OH.

either that or hes just a nosey barsteward.

Eithr way its completely unproffessional.. does he also go through your tack box?

Type of guy i wouldnt want to leave my mobile around.

Have changed my password, almost feel violated..it was a private conversation, why should I say sorry for that? Im way way over 16 by the way....my husband is going to go mental !

Well if you've changed your password then that's good. It may be your details just remained on his laptop and when he went to log in it just went to your FB instead (my mum often doesn't **** hers off and if I go on their comp it opens up her FB acc). He may not have doen anything dodgy re hacking etc BUT he shouldn't have been so nosey and it's just gone to show him people aren't happy.

Not ideal but, in the long run it could help improve things on the yard. I still wouldn't let him off scott free but he's now realised you're not happy, it could help. The truth hurts and all that.
