Yorkshire folk??

Hi Kenzo I come from Goole but haven't lived there for a while. I'm in Stockport & no longer ride. What's it like to ride around there now? Are there any bridle paths left? Do people still gallop like mad on Westfield Banks?

Ahh, seeing your name reminded me Fjordhorsefan.
Was it you I saw in the Your Horse magazine, where they do the "favourite ride" page each month? There was a fjord, looked like you and your friend, and it was about Escrick?

Yeah, twas us. Rubbish pic though! And she's now an ex-friend so I don't even want to look at the pic now:rolleyes::rolleyes:

We should have a no-horses meet up, maybe a party type thing? Because not everyone has a horse to take.

And a riding meetup. Roo cant be ridden much anymore, even less then last time we met. But Im backing my new boy in April-ish. So maybe we could meet somewhere like GG centre where you can do as much or as little as you like. If it was towards end of the year, Jimmy could come and play for an hour :)

Can Jimmy come to camp? :) It'll be great for him! Honest!:D Pllleeeaaassseee!:D

Between Selby and the A1.

I didnt realise there were so many of us on here! Another ride like last year would be fun (although a little less drama please!); although Ruby'sGolds idea of a un-mounted one might be quite nice (maybe a lecture demo type thing somewhere and supper?). I travel up to Dalby & over to the beach quite often as our hacking is pants so if anyone would like to join then please holla, new company is always welcome! :D

Ooo gg centre sounds good, is within hacking distance from me but haven't been yet..
Must get cracked on with bringing on Frankie though, was backed in summer and turned away, an outing would give me something to aim for

yes, yes and yes!! We finish hunting this time next month, and Ron won't be allowed to get fat this summer (I promise :D)

And for anyone who doesn't know, I'm in thirsk, and Ron and Tom live near Stokesley (at my parents house cos I'm too yorkshire to pay for livery!)

Feeling very homesick reading this thread. I left Yorkshire 30 years ago, when I was in my late twenties. My parents lived on the edge of Baildon Moor, so the riding was great. Still miss it.
Will always be a Yorkshire Lass :)

Maybe a HHO summer picnic - without the horse. Then all we'd need is some picnic rugs, food and drink. Would be cheaper than an organised 'do' which should make it more accessible. Obviously would be weather dependant - who picnics in the rain - but maybe we could have a couple of weekends, and make a decision a couple of days before?

We could then have a poll on where to have it? North York Moors, the Stray in Harrogate, the seaside, people could suggest somewhere nice form near them and then we can pick and share lifts etc?

Are there any events that it would be nice to take a picnic to and have a meet up at? :)
