Yorkshire people, where are you all :)

I'm just south of Howden and will have space for one in the trailer, although not sure if I can take a mahoosive 17hh-er.:o Saying that tho, I have a big old trailer, so one might fit.

I'm near Ferrybridge.....would that be too far to collect me and a slightly loony lightweight 15-hander??

Otherwise.....I was thinking of hiring a lorry for a couple of us?

I wonder how much a box for 3 would cost.
Just thinking, Im near Castleford, If I got picked up first, and then you, then to Kenzo then to Escrick.... According to aa route plan, that would take about an hour 15, plus load up time.
Might be worth it

Im in york itself in haxby but dont have a horse i could do that sort of ride on yet back ebony then she had 2 months off lame and only just about to get back on her.If it was a good month or 2 in the future i may be able to make it.

Think we're talking about August time? RG's horse Roo is still recuperating also.:)

she should be fit for then,i will only be taking it easy though as will be her first time out away from home or village,i will have a word with my mate and see if she fancies coming then i could cadge a lift lol.

21st August is looking good for me, but nut my sister (she's moving to Taunton, Somerset to start work there 1st August - but she might let OH take her horse for a tootle round with strictly no jumping)

CiaB I love you :P Lol Im useless at organising things :P
I think it would definitely be worth us lot raising some money for a charity through it :D But which one?? lol

Im GUTTED!!!!
Im in wakefield but i found out my little beast is about to pop a sprog any minute so i have no horsey :( but if anyone has a spare horse who doesn't mind a crappy rider jumping on board then im free:D
5''5 8 1/2stone... Pretty please:o

I'd Love to come! I'm in Leeds and I'd probably even have a spare horse (VERY quiet 15hh Welsh D but he's not boring!) BUT I don't have transport so may need to try and share.....Whoopit are you still in? IIRC you're not a million miles from my yard so we may be able to organise something? Would need to be a pretty tall lorry though considering my boy is just over 18hh.

How exciting this is!
The 21st August sounds perfect; very keen for a local meet-up!
Poppymoo- where abouts near ferrybridge are you? I'm just off the a63 so depending on how far off the a1/m62 junction you are then i could maybe pick you up? PM me! :)

Just a thank you to Emma for the invite (can't pm back on phone & pc bust!!) I don't actually ride anymore, just my 15 yr old daughter, but thanks for asking anyway, & I hope u all have a fab time!! xxx

MizzPurpleKitten i think ive inboxed you but im rubbish on here, im willing to coff up if anyone has a ride for me and ill put towards hiring a box..if not i may be able to talk a lady at my yard into coming :)

This all sounds brilliant, I'd love to be there too but don't have a horse :(, though I've been meaning to go to Escrick Park for ages as it sounds so great - might come along anyway on August 21st & meet you all. If you're looking to raise money, why not for the Ride Yorkshire Foundation? We're doing lots to get more people riding across Yorkshire, including long-distance routes with horse & rider B&Bs in the Yorkshire Wolds and N York Moors ... and we support disadvantaged kids to go riding too. Lots of them do that (children in care, foster children, pre-NEETS, etc) but their funding's being withdrawn because of the public sector funding cuts ... so we want to help fill in the gap. We've got a group of kids from S Leeds having lessons at the moment - they love it! :D
Website isn't quite there yet (next week???) but we're on facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ride-Yorkshire/132528986814780?ref=ts. Or email janet.cochrane@rideyorkshire.org or keep posting here.

Hellooo
I thought with it being nearer to August now, I would check that you are all still coming :D
21st August, Just under 6 weeks from now!
Post on here or pm me if your still coming

Me and t'crazy arab still coming:D

(all people...... feel free to pretend you aren't with me:o)

I cant get away with that ;) crazy arab is going on my trailer haha, I dont think Id be popular if I pretended I werent with you and left you LOL

I cant wait :D (btw how big is he/she?)

HJ- I dont know where that is, but have any of the others on here mentioned a place near you? May be able to sort out some transport with another member?
I think a few were talking about coming without horses too :)

I have been in contact with Escrick Park and they have offered us a great deal as we are going as a group. But... RG has had the idea of "paying" the usual price and the difference between the usual entry cost and the discounted cost, going to charity, WHW or similar??

What are everyones thoughts on this??
I did think of doing it as some sort of sponsored ride, but not sure I have enough hours in the day to organise that properly, plus it'd probably involved lots of horrible H&S rules, plus I hate asking people to sponsor me!:o

Any suggestions of charities??

Will bob a little post in the meet ups section to see if we can raise any more interest, and I'll whizz a PM out with the finer details when I've sorted a few bits out.
