You send your clipper blades off to be sharpened.....
You get all your nice clean rugs out....
Mother nature helps top your troughs up.....
You think about ordering your winter bedding........
The fleecy tops have come out the drawer..........
You can start to think about cross country again !!

You have to drive like a mad woman (ovbioulsy obeying all the rules of the road) to the yard to hack out after work and you drive home again in the dark

You innocently leave the house without your coat one morning and instantly do an about-turn and get it!

You realise that the waterproofs that have been in the car boot all summer were never actually in the car boot - you put them away somewhere safe

I have been ferreting around in the loft trying to find the Rambo Duo that I'm sure I put there after being cleaned lol. Other than that the babies all need new rugs

...little drifts of leaves begin to appear at the side of the road, they rustle gently in the breeze...THEY ARE FULL OF HORSE-EATING SNAKES! Strangely, the leaves in the field are snake-free.

It's suddenly less than 100 days to Christmas, the local supermarket (Morrisons in my case) have 3 shelves stuffed full of chocolate Father Xmases and advent calenders, and my native pony has grown a winter coat within a week.

Noooooooooooooooooo, it is NOT Autumn yet, not here anyway, I am still wearing tee shirts and mowing the blasted lawns because the grass refuses to stop growing.

Autumn equinox is September 22nd, clocks change November 1st. (according to my calender anyway)

Our swallows left weeks ago, the robins went ages before them, but it can't be that cold yet because I have just been buzzed by a hummingbird.
