I have just got off the phone from the vet, and Wonky is booked in to have his bits chopped off at the end of the month....
It is an incredibly hard decision (please no nasty replies I know some of you think he isn't nice enough to be a stallion anyway) and something I had said I'd never do, but having chatted with my boss, my OH and my vet, I decided that I didn't really want to sell him, and the only way I can really keep him is to have him gelded...He is still advertised for sale, and if someone I like comes along, and offers a good home, he may still go, but D-day is the end of the month (I have to go overseas for work on a more regular basis soon) so if he has not found a new home by then, his bits will be in a jar (well probably in a hazardous waste bin) and he will be kicked out for a few months to recover. My boss has been very good (non horsey work) and has said that I can stay in the UK until I am happy he has recovered from his op.
I just hope I am making the right decision for him.
