I went to a different obedience group for the first time yesterday and was really impressed to see some of the other members get their dogs to drop to a down on a recall. It left me wondering how to do it and not imagining it would be something that we could achieve.
Her 'down' has always been quite good, but only from a sit, we hadn't really tried it from standing so that was our first thing to work on. Thankfully she pretty much 'knew' it just trough using the hand-signal and same command. Worked on it a few times during our class yesterday and then a few times this morning during our walk.
She seemed fairly comfortable with it so I thought I'd see what would happen if I asked her as she was moving. Shock horror, she actually did it!! I couldn't believe it so tried again to make sure it wasn't just down to luck....here's the video evidence!

It's not perfect (need to get her to drop quicker and not creep forward) but considering the lack of time spent on teaching her I was really pleased with her
