Ive only had two.. the first was dressage writing for Dawn French and Lenny Henrys daughter at our old yard. Was lovely to see that although she was at a very expensive school, they hadnt gone out and brought her an absoloute schoolmaster, and she did a good job of handling him when he was being cheeky!!

The second was at badminton this year... Katie Price walked in to the stands (non VIP part!) all glammed up, looking a bit out of place with her crew behind her and no one really aknowledged(sp?) her so she walked straight back out again! :p thought it was quite funny :)

So what are yours?? :)
 
Sold our son's 14.2hh to Mindy & Richard Hammond, after she came to view in his helicopter. We wanted him to go to a good loving home & are thrilled he has.
 
was looking for a job after plumpton college. spoke to a woman who put me onto william fox pitt who offered me an interview just a little too late, when i'd already accepted a job on a stud in yorkshire. also hve harvey smith, phillip heffner, david broome and ted edgar's autographs from a show in eastbourne many moons ago!

Would you call them celebrities?? To me they are famous (idols.. etc whatever you like) but not celebrities

p.s love the hamster too!!
 
I've hobnobbed (well, spotted from a distance) with both Bruce Springsteen and Glenn Close when my daughters used to show in the States. They both had daughters who showed on the same circuit and every once in a while we would see them at shows. I could say I used to say hi to them like old buddies ..... but no ..... :o
 
Erm, some of you may remember the Tooting Popular People, Woolfie and "power to the people", well I used to see Robert Lindsey around at local shows all the time back in the late 80s........

I was at Hickstead with a friends teenage daughter, watching the sj warm-up and a lady rode up to us and said, "can you hold my horse please while I use the loo?" Turned out it was Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and the horse was Stella. She was a lovely horse and we fed her polos!
 
I've been to Mary kings yard many years ago and met the famous star appeal and the one and only king william! more recently i had a photo with mary king and her horse and said hi to william fox pitt!
 
Met Duke of Edinburgh on a hack while he was carriage driving, had a long chat about side-saddle.

While working as an au pair went to a hunt meet with my employer had a long conversation with a man who thinking I was her daughter (often happened) included me. Was tired so not really social. Anyway when he walked away and I tucked into sausage rolls my employer asked if I knew who he was *shrug*..Harry Meade...*choke on sausage*

Several social occasions with the guy who sung the song mad world. Roland... pass don't know his surname (horse related because other guests were horsey :D)

Discussed Badminton with Miranda Beaufort when she came for a physio appointment where I worked as a receptionist.

Had no idea who any of these people were when I started the conversations. Oooops! :rolleyes:
 
Well my story is a tale and is about very important person within the work I do. I won't name but will tell you he's a TOP flat trainer. Our gamekeeper was on his rounds and noticed that a car had edged into a ditch on the estate. He hopped out to see if he could be any help and TOP Trainer was bonking a woman!!!! Gamekeeper just shouted "Blue" if he wanted a hand to get the BMW out of the ditch whilst trying not chuckle. Our good old Subaru Pick Up pulled the car out and the gamekeeper left them to it!

I met a lot of the top racing trainers, jockeys, etc. when I was doing research for my book 'The Racing Tribe'. All were very nice and kind to me.

In the early stages of the research, the then leading NH trainer David Nicholson spotted me in the weighing room at Chepstow and wrote an embarrassingly flattering piece about me in his column in the Racing Post, which included an invitation to come and spend a morning at his yard. I was terrified of him (he was very big and scary and had a reputation for, er, not suffering fools) but the British Horseracing Board, who were funding my research, insisted that I accept.

I went and he was so kind and lovely - drove me up to the gallops to watch all his horses work, made breakfast for me, patiently answered my dumb questions all morning, etc., etc. Really nice chap.
 
jose marineo (chelsea boss person) 's children had a PC rally at my old yard, very nice and pleasant children, both asked if they could give my mare a polo after our jumping session. but it was a bit unnerving having the 2 bodyguards watching me jump lmao.

and ellen whitaker sent me flying at hickstead one year because she was late for her class :rolleyes:
 
I used to have lessons with Lauren Shannon. Also, I saw Ellen Whitaker shopping at the British Open. She was walking in front of me and I was so tempted to tap her on the shoulder and ask for her autograph but I didn't quite dare! :p
 
I was riding along a road in Wandsworth, about 30 years ago, when a police bike convoy came round the corner towards me, flanking a huge black Bentley. When the car drew level with me the back window rolled down and Princess Anne popped her head out and said she would never have expected to see a horse in that area! :)

But my favourite horsey/celebrity story involves my friend, who was riding in Windsor Great Park with her friend. Another horse rider approached them, at which point my friend's friend's horse started to throw a wobbler, so she moved him off the track and onto the grass so the other rider had room to pass safely. But the other rider got cross and said "get off the grass, you're not allowed on the grass, do you think you own the park"? To which my friend's friend (who was none other than Zara Phillips) said "I don't, but my granny does"! :p
 
Years ago my hubby and I were walking around the course before the Hickstead Derby and found ourselves standing next to the late David Vine while he was doing a piece to camera. Unfortunatlely I haven't had many personal encounters with celebrities but in my previous life (bc before children) working in accountancy I used to have to pay certain client's bills on their behalf. My favourites of which were Robbie Williams, Simply Red and the girls from Eternal. I also met Nasser Hussein (England and Essex Cricketer) in reception.

Well i got interviewed by Derek Thompson(channel 4 racing) at Cheltenham few years back, ridden racehorses belonging to Micheal O'leary. Seen Tim Henman eventing and will never forget seeing Tom Cruise at Badminton( early 90s) And I live/ride by Robert Plants house, but Im too young to know who he is!!
 
Mini TX was doing her first PN at Lackham College and we had just walked the xc course and she was a bit nervous, so I decided to rather take over and jolly her along. Anyway, mother as usual got it wrong and I was consigned to holding her mare while she studded her up in a right huff. Anyway, this really friendly girl came over, stroked Bonn's nose said what a pretty girl she was and asked if she had walked the course and did she know what dressage test it was. We all chatted for a few minutes about the course etc and it started to dawn on me it was Zara Phillips that we were talking to. Poor Mini TX had been so busy struggling with studs she didnt really think, but I guess the paparazzis milling around gave it away.
 
My friend advertised her pony and was rendered speechless when Rory Bremner turned up with wife and daughters. They bought the pony (little smasher) and have made fabulous owners. Pony deserved no less. The most entertaining sale I think in history and I gather RB went through quite a few of his impressions.
 
I flew up to scotland to purchase some equipment for my business (non horse related) and as I had travelled from the cotswolds the people I was buying the equipment kindly invited me to stay overnight at their house (which was extremely beautiful and very large !!) but with apologies said that they did have an old friend named Ian stopping over for supper that night and would I mind him joining us - I of course commented 'of course not' ............. and had a lovely, very funny, surreal and amusing supper and evening with Ian Stark !!
