Dublin cool it riding tights. I haven't ridden in them yet but despite being over 14 (Cortez) they look OK and are very comfortable. No VPL, reduced muffin top and they fit my rather skinny legs and bum. I bought the grey ones and they are not too shiny and tbh would pass for well fitting breeches. If they don't slip down when I'm riding I might be a convert

I have these in grey also and I really like them. They are so comfortable and they look better on that a lot of jodhpurs i have

Just bought: a new saddle, a full cheek snaffle, a harness, some battery operated small clippers and a carriage.
Would love to buy: some diamanté pink brushing boots I saw which would match my new driving pads perfectly.
Just made: a set of two hot pink driving pads with matching girth sleeve and noseband cover.

ooh i love the pink. That would suit mule.

New knee for me.......:rolleyes3:

I don't know if this is of any help but a friend got keyhole surgery on his knee. One specialist recommended a knee replacement, but his gp was hesitant so he was referred to another specialist. It took about 10 weeks after surgery to feel the difference but, he's now back out eventing and his riding is much better because his body isn't compensating for the pain. He hadn't been able to ride for 6 months before the surgery because the pain had got so bad. He's hoping he'll have a few years before he has to go for a replacement.

A bitter sweet post for me

On Saturday I brought home my new to me EquiTrek Show Trekka M
On Sunday I discovered I may have to try and find another new saddle for my horse, and as I ride western and last time there was only 1 that fit after months of searching well I'm not looking forwards to it. It may also mean the equitrek has to go to pay for it..

I made my horse wear Man Makeup at a WH class yesterday (to cover a couple of scars). Maybe that’s why he tanked off with me....

Best wishes to all those with dodgy knees (mine aren’t so much dodgy as just worn out)

I’m not brave enough to wear riding tights - I reckon I’d get blisters!

In the last few months I have bought ( mostly second hand but pretty much as new)

air jacket, 2 x sweet itch udder covers, snuggy sweet itch head ( new ), snuggy turnout head, snuggy turnout head and neck combined, hacking jacket, saddle, schooling whip, hi vis long sleeve wicking top ( new ), 2 x fly veils ( new ), acavallo seat saver and a Weatherbeeta outdoor rug with neck

but I have also sold

2 x saddles, 2 x breastplates, outdoor rug, a bit, 7 x girths, seat saver, 2 x fly masks and a pair of spurs

I am waiting for the lottery win so I can buy a “ new ” lorry as mine is rather old.

P.S. I am actually still in profit!

Out of interest where do you find the best place to sell horsey things?

Wish list ...
A nice Irish 3 year old .. realistically after the winter so its not another mouth to feed.
Swapping the 506 for a 511 .. depending on how big a 3YO we go for.

Recent Splurges ....
Horse is going to water treadmill once a week.
She also has new fly veil and her saddle refitted.

Oh no , that’s a bummer :(

The only thing I want at the moment is an air jacket but I want to lose weight first. I lost a stone in January and then gave up and it's creeping back on. I just can't get the motivation at the moment :(

Best value purchases:
Kate Negus bridle - over 7 years old and still looking fab; loads of spare parts should I wish to try a new noseband
Ariat Bromont Boots - say 10 years old and still going strong. Feet do get a bit soggy in deep puddles [but there aren't many of those about atm]

Recent purchases:
VIP saddle pad - my mare does seem to feel softer over her back when I use it
Kate Negus handbag - lush
Primark leggings to ride in - being pregnant the bump is getting bigger!

I have taken delivery of two new fly masks this morning so I can keep up with the searching for, washing and repairing of the old ones. I'm also sorry to mention the C word but I have also started to buy items for the HHO Secret Santa but for obvious reasons I cannot divulge what they are. Not so much a purchase but the boys have both had the physio this morning.

Other than that I don't actually need anything and am another who is trying to sell. I possible have a local buyer for a saddle that fits neither of them and I shall be going to the Finmere Bank Holiday horsey car boot to try and sell everything else.

New knee for me.......:rolleyes3:

Ah, ****** :(. Keep up with the physio after (assuming you're going to have the surgery), it'll be bloody grim at times but worth it. Lots of cycling etc, you should get full ROM back. I feel for you x.

But I think I'll be needing some new stirrup leathers soon as I've grown and they only just fit me now.

Arguably Diva could use a non full cheek version of her bit as well as neither of us really like it but I'm procrastinating about it a bit because I want to wait until I've sold some other stuff so I can afford to pay my parents the petrol costs to go to a big tack shop with more choice.

Henry James stirrup leathers are the best and are not expensive at all :). They never stretch, mine are nearly 3 years old and still look brand new after a clean!
Can you just order the new bit online? Saves on petrol costs.

All the saddle purchasers - what've you bought? I love saddle window shopping :D.

Red - ooh, that's a nice phone! I'll have a look at them when I properly kill my iPhone (shouldn't be long).
CAF - that's very pink :D, I'm impressed that you made them! Do you have a sewing machine or do it by hand?
Alibear - fingers crossed you find a saddle without having to sell the trailer :(. I swear saddle fitting is the worst part of horse ownership sometimes.

For the spotty my wish list is

The new woof wear numahs in their lovely colours

A gp and dressage saddle

Prolite girths

Boots to match the above

Big horse shop medium weight turn out

The elephant

The woof wear numahs and boots

New saddle

Back on track stuff for both

Oh yes Haas brushes, def recommend. I didn't realise a good brush can get your horse all shiny. He's still a poo monster but a shiner one now.

Sorry for those who need new knees or other items that are interfering with horsey fun.

Recently I have bought....

A new jump saddle
A 5 point breastplate (second hand but as new)
A new tredstep softshell competition jacket

On the wish list (going to Burghley so plenty of shopping)...

A new skull hat (vented so the new gatehouse or CO.. whatever fits)
Pony sized xc boots for my 13.2

Fiona

I had a lot of my tack stolen out of our tack room so I've just bought a new prestige jump saddle to replace my previous one. Cost a lot because I couldn't find one secondhand but it is looovely. Also bought a girth and two new bridles plus a martingale.

Need to get stirrup leathers ASAP and new stirrups too.

Still need to buy a dressage saddle when funds permit as well as a dressage girth and saddlepad to replace my esky :(

I could also only get the jump saddle in brown whereas I had black before so need to find brown tendon and fetlock boots for him too. I bought him black overreach boots just before the break in as his professional choice ones are way too small but I suppose I'll need to change those to brown too! Could also go with white I suppose as he is grey.

Luckily my expensive thinline pad fell off somewhere in the process so that was recovered and doesn't need to be replaced!

About to buy 2 x new ruggles rugs - with money from insurance claim from a small fire last week, after a lightening strike. Mains box caught fire and melted an old PE rug. They have given me £135 for it, so that'll do nicely thank you :)

JustMe22, that's really rubbish :( Sorry to hear that.

Thanks for the breeches link, DL, I do quite like Decathlon and they're not overly expensive even at that price... Swiss gallopers will remain very much on the wishlist for now!

Off to the home international in a few weeks so umming and aahhing over team clothing etc... :D does kira need a blingy browband in team colours? Looks nice but not budgeted for!

Other than that my horsey purchases are quite dull, of the feed and bedding ilk. Though OH has just bought a new radio for the lorry :D :D be nice to upgrade the 20 year old ear-mangler!

McF - Oooh, what bridle? I've been eyeing up the HvE for a long time but just can't justify £320! I'm keeping an eye out for one second hand....

I went for the PS of Sweden Nirak. And horse seems really settled in it and is really starting to soften through the poll (its amazing how you look for improvements when you’ve spent so much on something!).
The sparkly browband arrived today and it’s gorgeous - can’t wait to try it on her tomorrow. My friend thinks I’m trying to blind the judges with it!!
