Goddamn it, I've just had to spend £40 on a Thermocool rug because of this post <face palm>.
Thank you for the heads up, I've fancied one for ages but wasn't going to spend £70 on one! :p

Oh dear, me too....so pretty though.

Ester, I have a horse matching that description. I like her this week but next week probably not. Do you have an address to drop her off?

Love the saddle covers WelshD :D
If we're doing saddle confessional, I have 5 saddles, but I only have one that doesn't fit any horse I own, and I have 3 horses, only one that doesn't fit any saddle I own. And put that way I think it sounds ay ok :p

Lol I could send you mums address she’d like that :D thankfully for her I don’t really do girls, she’s the mare person ;)

I currently need:
New country boots for the winter - current ones are far from waterproof
Fleece lined brushing boots - mr Uber sensitive has decided anything but bandages currently rub his legs
Everyday schooling hat - I really want one of the new ones with removable washable liners!

Wish list:
To be able to keep our lorry that is currently up for sale
Entire collection of PS of Sweden matchy
New winter rugs for said horse that also decided to go up 2 rug sizes

DF I have two saddles, I am going to attempt to buy a 5'9 17" MW ideal horse ;)

totally support this ambition, all of mine are 6'3 and all fit my lovely equipe dressage saddle. Millie's Wow went straight on Salty with no adjustment too :D

After reading all the replies on here I feel so much better about spending a small fortune. I can now confess to buying a new equipe dressage saddle yesterday , then had to buy a new girth and of course new saddle cloth, as all mine are jumping ones.
The one thing I do need is new stirrup leathers, so will be ordering the Henry James ones.

the equipe dressage saddles really are fab, as it fits 2 of mine I can tell OH, it was half the price cant I ?
Im now a dressage diva !!

definitely!

I love mine, *whispers* I won it in a competition, otherwise I'd never ever have been able to justify the cost as I had a nice enough saddle before. but having it on 3 horses really knocks the cost-per-wear down :D

Recently bought (ie since June....)
Ariat Boots (Ebay baragain)
Pro Jump stirrups (Ebay MEGA bargain)
Super XC colours for our first season eventing.
New Lorry. Very,. very old new but hey they are wheels!!
New pony! And priceless she is too.
A small fortune on vets fees for t'other pony. Which I very much hope insurance will mostly cover though trhe hospital stay is a lot anyway.

Rather an expensive run.... Luckily I am self employed with little limit on how much work I can accept if I want it so I can pay it all off assuming I can just forego sleeping for a few weeks.....

On the wish list but not yet bought:

Long winter riding coat. I FROZE last winter and swore I'd treat myself next time
Dressage saddle (never going to happen)
Matchy matchy bling for my beautiful horse. (Also never going to happen. NOTHING of mine remotely matches.
Hit Air jacket. I should, I know I should but they are SO expensive.
Long topped riding boots for competing in. They look so lovely and my (ebay)boots don't look great and don't fit.

Well we're off to Burghley in a couple week and have been saving so I have a mini shopping list for that trip (whether it all gets bought there or not remains to be seen) which is broken down between both pones and me and looks like:

Baby Pone:
-New light/mediumweight stable rug as he first decided his current rug would be better with only one front strap and second decided to shoot up from 6'6" to between 6'9" and 7'0"
-New comfy breathable saddlecloth (now that he's becoming a proper ridden pony he deserves his own fancy saddlecloth instead of the hand-me-down ones, I also think he needs an x-full as well)

Older Pone:
-Potentially a new rainsheet if I can find one at a good price (otherwise I'll send her currently one to be repaired and reproofed)
-Proper wool girth sleeve as I noticed some rub marks the other day after her workout and I've only got faux-wool sleeve in my arsenal (which will do in the short term but would rather have wool for the long term if she's prone to this)
-Better quality grackle bridle now that she's decided she works well in the cheap one I got her to try out, she can now have a nicer one. Not sure which brand yet, will do lots of looking and touching and browsing at Burghley. Plus that means that I can retire the cheaper noseband and put her in-hand show-ready noseband back on the bridle so I don't have to keep taking my bridle apart!

Myself:
-New everyday yard boots (wellies or muck boots depending on what I gravitate towards). Mine now have a vent at the ankle. Great for breathability..... not so good for being waterproof!
-I keep looking at the new RaceSafe body protectors. My current one is so uncomfortable and puts me in such a weird position, and as I'm currently backing a youngster and me and older pone will be starting XC next year (fingers crossed at least), I want one to be comfortable in!
-New riding gloves! Mine are hanging on by a thread... there's only so much more they can give!

And more yard general, I'm on the hunt for more jump poles and wings, some of those field gate mats and a hay manger for my girl who can't use a standard haynet in the stable because apparently she likes being difficult!
Plus I need to get my bulk order of wood pellets and hay in before the winter sets in!

And, you know, if at Burghley I should happen to see I nice pair of breeches, or some particularly nice saddlecloths... well.... I have been saving like a good girl!

2 x tack have the lemieux cooler rigs in three different shades for under £40. They're gorgeous, I treated my girly to a plum one last year and it was phenomenal at drying her off unclipped coat off in under 30 mins while looking lovely too :D

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!

haha - I didn't notice the need to do a saddle confession. I have two that don't fit mine - one is with the saddler to sell (as I got it from her in the first place) but the other is in my spare room and really needs me to do something with it. I also have a whole load of saddle cloths that I should sell and two bridles, and some bits. Why is it that there is always something 'better' to do? And why is buying kit so much easier and more fun than selling it?

Ha ha! Love this wishlist post! I have spent a lot and sold a lot this year, but on my want list:
3 side saddles (1 for each horse)
2 girths, stirrups and balance straps
A transcend bridle
Mud control mats
Hoof boots for my girls hind feet
More electric fence posts
Another fence energiser and battery

It'll take years before I can afford the whole list!

OK, so my "wish list" for what it's worth:

First & foremost is Transport of some kind; I'm currently looking for a decent 2nd-hand trailer, lots about but a mechanic friend has vetted some and wasn't happy! So keeping looking on that score.

Saddles for my two ridden horses are actually SORTED!! YAY!! I managed to buy a very tidy little nearly-new version of my other saddle (TreeFree Tor), so now I can comfortably ride out with a friend without being uncomfortable, as the Barefoot I was using just wasn't right for my chunky little coblet.

Other tack is sort-of sorted: all horses have decent bridles and bitting is sorted; tho' I wouldn't say no to a couple of those nifty little hi-viz "Endurance" type synthetic breastplates........

For me: I DEFFO need a new hat as current one, whilst comfy, isn't compliant any longer, so need to spend some £££ on that. I've got an oval shaped head which isn't easy to find a good fit to tho', and I want one of the endurance-type vented hats which you don't tend to see in ordinary tack-shops (and our nearest one is nearly an hour's drive away anyway, real bummer that :( ).

Having also lost weight, I need some decent jods; this summer have really stuggled, have worn my trusty navy Mark Todd summerweight ones which are massively big for me now but they're all I've got, but would really like to splash out and buy some of the riding tights which I've seen; new job hopefully starts in the autumn so a nice little new purchase of some might just be possible instead of having to scour e-bay and second-hand sites. I've always had good service from Performance Equestrian for TREC/endurance type gear, worth mentioning in passing.

I shall also need a decent pair of yard boots that don't curl up and die at the first shower: have always had MuckBoots but the last pair I had just didn't last! Plus the tread on them was as slippery as a turd on a dungheap, which isn't the most helpful thing when you're bringing in three wet and miserable horses on a cold wet morning!

Might need to stock up on sweet itch rugs/fly rugs etc: autumn a good time! Hopeless looking for them when you need them (i.e. in the Spring!). Premier Equine a good place to look, often have discounts on rugs.

Around the yard: a few jobs needing doing (I'm a YO as well as keeping my own on-site): a few fencing poles gone rotten. Harrowing and rolling done by local farmer in the spring; next job up is hedge-trimming. Am looking for a portable small harrow (on wheels, to hitch on my 4X4 so needs a conventional towhitch) chain harrow.......... if anyone has any recommendations??

Then......... (oh dear!!), as I've got two oldies, one of which is retired and the other is on walking-only-on-vets-orders exercise, tis poss a good idea to cast an eye around for another horse....... however this could be a sad autumn, very poignant, as I'm not sure it's gonna be fair to put old mare through another winter, and bearing that in mind, it might be kinder too to "do" old man as well on the same occasion, as they're both pairbonded and he'd grieve without her :( :( :( Tough choices, but they gotta be made.

You need to change your username then! :D
So sorry about your oldies :(. Fwiw I think it's the right decision; I've seen an oldie do 2 more winters than he should have and the final one was incredibly hard on him. I was always afraid to go to the field or look over his stable door in case he was stuck or had gone down.

The LeM rug I ordered at ~1am yesterday will be delivered today - how's that for service?! 10/10 for 2TimesTack.
The LeM saddlecloth I ordered on the 4th Aug was only dispatched yesterday and the seller didn't communicate with me about the delay until I'd sent 3 emails chasing them. I am not impressed and won't be ordering from Supplies for Farmers ever again.
The Seaver girth sleeve is delayed due to a production problem but I don't mind as they let me know quickly, apologised, and will be sending some free stuff ;). They've also offered to send it whenever is convenient for me as I'm working away for a week soon.
Still no sign of the Bombers bit and no communication from that company either!

I got some lovely burgundy Funnell travel boots secondhand for a tenner today. Currently going round in the machine as they have a lot of life left in them but were very whiffy. Does that count as making a saving?

I've persuaded OH to go halves with me :p. Fingers crossed I can find someone who'll bring one out to see if it'll fit horse and me.

In other news:
- Le Mieux saddlecloth eventually turned up :). Le M rug turned up less than 12 hours after I'd ordered it! Two Times Tack get 10/10.
- Seaver girth sleeve is going to be a while.
- Bombers bit is coming from S Africa so I'll be waiting up to 10 weeks.

Any new purchases anyone?

Follow that! Well my Dublin cool it tights, which arrived last week have now been ridden in and I thoroughly recomend them. They are the most comfortable things I've ridden in and they look very smart, just like breeches. However, I did get sucky noises rising to the trot but my sitting trot was much improved as I was stuck to the saddle. Love them. I think Ariat have just lost a customer!

Very pretty DF!

it's sell, sell, sell here, boo. A massive ebayathon as the bills just keep on coming :(

However, I did win a pot of Kevin Bacon hoof gunge and that arrived today so I can pretend I have been shopping :D And Kira's PSG music is finally done which I hope will be lots of fun in the future.

I have two tweed show jackets for sale if you'd consider 2nd hand. One's a Shires Huntingdon with a navy velvet inset in the collar, it shrank in the wardrobe during Covid  . It would fit a size 12 or maybe 14 with no boobs. The other was a friend's who died, her husband gave it to me to sell and give the proceeds to the charity that looked after her in her final days. It's a very good quality jacket but the make escapes me. That would be a size 10ish (with the sleeves shortened but that could be unpicked). It's a very subtle plain olive greenish tweed.

I would absolutely consider 2nd hand but I am a size 16-18 boob heavy 😂 xx

Is it the free space one and what size? Why are you selling? Is it not that great?

Yes it is a free space. It is a dressage one I think 26inch in black would have to check. I love the idea and my boy is comfortable in it. I am just not sure if it is my current saddle that is stopping him moving forward or the girth he was great to start with. I have the saddler coming out tomorrow. The last time she came out she told me to go back to the fairfax but since then I switched back as I need a longer fairfax.
