I am after a pair of thin ish gloves for competing. Must be brown ( I don't do black) and be as like wearing no gloves as possible. I am not a glove wearer by nature. Ideally I don't want to spend £60 on them either.

What does everyone have, and would you recommend?

You can have half my twix with me if you need a reward :)

my favourite gloves are a pair of woofwear ones I've had for about 7 years :)

I also like roeckle and I recently got a pair of kingsland technical gloves which are nice and a light. I did get them in a sale though, because I wasn't going to spend silly money on a pair of gloves.

Ive used SSG's and macwets both good, I must be very hard wearing on my gloves and they never seem to last more that 2-3months, but I like the grip on the SSG's. My next pair will be Roeckle I think

Roeckl's all the way for me - they are thin enough to still give great feel, but good grip. They don't slip when they're wet either.

For general riding, I use the Roeckl Meredith Beerbaum gloves, but they are cold in the winter as they're thin. They're not brown though, they just come in grey.

For competing and winter riding, I use the Chester gloves, the Caramel is a lovely brown

I'm probably too late to share your Twix now but if you pop our & get a Crunchie later, I'll help you out with that ;)

Thankies all. I might pop to the feed store at lunch although don't hold much hope of them having anything nice. Otherwise I'll be ordering something on line. I don't want to spend too much money because I lose gloves all the time. I only need new ones as I've lost one of my lovely Ariats. :(

JB-I'm actually en route to the cafe for a scone so can get you a Crunchie probably :)

Scratch the Crunchie, I'll have a scone please, lashings of butter and a little jam if you don't mind :D

This thread just Made me buy new gloves! Ha! Chesters in chamois on their way!

I am totally obsessed with Roekl gloves and I have tried every glove going for extra grip with my very strong horse! They are amazing and I have every type they make. The solar ones are fab for summer!
