I would snatch him up if I were anywhere near you! The ad is very good but are you so sure that you don't want a teenager? Many of them are extremely competent riders and I'm sure you could find references for them.

It's not so much that I don't want a teenager but the teenagers that have called have said that they cannot afford to pay any money towards his keep. As much as I need him ridden and cared for I do need a small contribution towards his keep as I now have 2 and they are both on livery!!!

I wouldnt have a teenager for mine either! - have you tried horsemart - i was inundated with calls from there and my horse is similar spec to yours.

Sorry! I pressed return by mistake... the mesage went on to explain why and then stoopid rules of five minutes no editing meant that it would not accept my new reply! Grrrr new forum. I'll re write it... wait a min

Your photos don't match your ad. Your photos are of a competing horse but your add says hacking. Use a photo of him in the field/stable and one being ridden out hacking somewhere that looks appealing such as having a canter on a beach or in a field. I'd also remove the tendon injury bit as sharers don't want to take on any ifs or buts even if it has no bearing on what they can do with him! He's also a big guy and that may put a lot of people off. Hope you get someone nice!

Right....

Onyl because I would be nervous of having a share horse with a fairly recent injury, i would be worried he would go lame again (possibly unlikely...) and also that I would break him! Maybe say that it doesn't effect him, just means he needs a quieter life.

If you are looking for a more adult audience I would try and aim it to people who are just coming back into riding or want to just have something to amble round the countryside on. It might be best to mention how he is to hack out, in company and on his own. Are there people on the yard to hack out with? I am always nervous that I will not know any routes...

You mention that the person could do schooling, is there a possibility of having lessons as well? How many times would you want him to school/ how much could he do?

I would also give an idea of financial contribution as it may put some people off. Is it essential? Or is it more that you are looking for someone to spend time with your lad? Maybe give an estimate and say negotiable to the right person.

I'd advertise in local riding schools, if you haven't done so already, that have a good adult client base. Say that he would be ideal for someone looking to get back into riding.

Just to add that there are alot of horses out there at the moment to share but you will find the right person! He looks lovely :)

And sorry about the post before.... lol, it read very blunt! It wasn't even in my final post!!
