Your horse live

Im a YHL virgin, never been before as struggle with crowds. Going on Sunday with a friend so looking forward to it, I only have a small shopping list.

I've never been as I have always baulked at paying an entrance fee just to shop!

I can see there are apparently 300 tradestands, can anyone advise if these are largely horsey? HOYS is great for some things but I really don't want champagne with gold flakes in or hair straighteners!

Ahem...lol...the champagne with gold flakes was actually quite nice tasting...and i dont like champagne...lol! Inappropriate tho I'll admit!

Have been going for years, but am now a HOYS convert!!!

I used to prefer it when they did it over 3 days, so I would go on the Friday to avoid the crowds, the cramped stalls and public lacking in manners!

Me, am traveling up on the Friday staying in coverntry for the weekend and going both days :) third year running me and my friend.

Anyone in coverntry able to recommend anywhere to go out for a bit of night life up there?

Leamington is good idea for a night out too :) Depends what kind of club/bar you are looking for.

I can't decide if I like YHL anymore - now they have the really long queues for the main arena it seems such a faff

My uni riding club is running a trip down on the sunday for £20 - dont know how much tickets are normally but seems pretty reasonable. Cant shop as have no money but demos will be good to.go . watch :-)

I think I paid £35 for two tickets and booking fee so depending on how far your travel is £20 to go doesn't sound too bad.

I've had another look through the stall list and the quality - in terms of specialist equipment and expertise - seems to be very high so I'm looking forward to learning "stuff"!

Meeeee!! I'm going on the Sunday and am so ridiculously excited, it's my favourite day out of the year...! We go every year and just love it, horsey heaven.
