A good freelance groom!

Absolute game changer to be able to go away and have cover, not get home in time to feed supper and know they are looked after. Even just have a day where I’m home but I don’t have to be the person mucking out. Number one best addition to a yard at home.

Stuff to fix fencing. It’s no longer the YO
Job!
Cable ties are incredibly handy for emergency repairs.
A spare wheel barrow wheel because if it’s flat early morning in the dark before work…. Scrub that. A spare wheelbarrow and tools!
Head torch.

I brought my horses home for the first time 2 years ago and absolutely love it. I was a bit daunted. The thing we did most in the beginning was fence repairs and eletric taping bits of the fields off. Now I know which are the better bits to use for winter and summer grazing.
I had a white board with essential things like when shoeing, worming, saddle check etc. needed doing
also a first aid kit and on the top vets and farrier number and a large torch, lots of pairs of scissors, baler twine, tool kit for use if any horse gets stuck in the fence or i need emergency fence repairs. Both these last two have happened more than once! three wheelbarrows, two for mucking out and a clean one for hay etc.
I also have a diary in which I keep in the tack room and daily write things down regarding horse health, exercise, grazing plans etc.
