Your thoughts on the HOYS hunter class dispute?

I think it's a complete farce. Well done to everyone in a position of influence who kicked up a stink and threw their toys out of the pram because you didn't want to play by the rules - for the sake of a hat, you're now going to be costing a lot of people a lot more money and have damaged Hunter showing in the process. Round of applause.

When you take into account historic inflation, a basic show outfit costs less today than it did then, in real terms.

I was commenting (or trying to :)) on the difference in price between a handmade saddle and a basic show outfit then, and how much wider the price gap is now. If you had the boots (and hat) you could probably still scrape together an outfit for £30, but no way is someone making you a saddle for £55 :)
 
It's ridiculous that HOYS will effectively lose a major source of revenue for SHB and people will probably even lose their jobs over this due to lack of funds.

Imagine being the person who had to go home and tell their family they were being redundant because of the vanity of a small minority of short-sighted, vain people.
