For some it is breeding the perfect foal from their mare, owning a grand national winner, staying on the bucking broncho they own :D, having their own yard, being the best in their field, having a year with no vets fees :D or just finding the 'right horse'

I think mine would have to be owning my own yard, having my mare, a foal from her (never going to go there though) and my boy. A nice bit of woodland/ moorland with xc and water jumps, nice indoor sandschool with lightweight jumps and rubber matting, a nice horse box, house on site, flat paddocks (with poo picking pixies that come out at night!) Not having to work so that I can pick up the odd project to play with aswell as my horses.

Although my dad has always said he would absolutely love to see me compete and win at hickstead on a mule, he thinks it would be funny ;)

What would yours be...

To own a calm, versatile 16hh true middleweight pair turnout (pair of horses, poss a spare, carriage and harness) and not have to worry about how I'm going to do their day to day upkeep money and facilities wise.

My ultimate horsey dream ....... um, well the first would be to live in a place where I could just ride out with NO road work at all, onto some nice hacking, a bit of open ground for a good gallop, plus some nice woods for riding in the shade in the summer, plus maybe a X-country course to practice on and naturally a nice open sandy beach for riding on with no-one hassling us with their dogs etc.

Then I'd have a nice little 3.5 box which I could trundle myself and dogs/horse around in and poddle around to see friends and ride out with them.

I've got my own yard, so don't have to go cap in hand to anyone which is lovely.

Horse? Well..... the one I've got I love to bits in spite of his quirks - but if I could "clone" my first two horses and resurrect them somehow so I could have the time I had with them all over again, bless them, that would be total paradise. Perhaps one day when we've all hung up our boots and have gone to the big paddock in the sky .......... perhaps they're waiting with their heads hung over the gate, I hope so.

I have a few horsey dreams... the one I really, really want to do before I kick the bucket (a long while yet, with any luck!) is competently ride a GP test, whether in (unaffiliated) competition or not.

General horsey dreams are to have my own livery yard, have an Iberian pony / many Iberian ponies (!) and generally enjoy horses again and get to do all the things I never got to do before. I'd also love to ride round a really piddly (2') XC course :)

The GP test is my ultimate dream though. I WILL have my Andalusian one day.

To have a small yard (with indoor school :D) at my house with my horses and a couple of nice liveries who enjoy hacking and generally having fun with their horses.

To take Samba out on her own and go exploring and maybe compete in some low level ODE's and go hunting once in a while without her blowing her brains :D

For me it would be the iconic cottage with roses up the walls, with a few acres surrounding it, a little low slung barn with 3 stables and a cow byre and a stone barn across the fields for hay etc. A few sheep out in the paddocks, a cow in the byre for milk, chickens happily clucking around the gravel yard and a nice veggie garden. Oh and a flower garden for mum!
The cottage would have a granny annex for mum and dad (the sheep would be for dad to pottle with) and have a big aga that would heat the house!
The stables would have my current 2 girls, plus a nice trad cob for me to ride and drive....
Ho Hum, maybe one day!!! :)

To beat John Whitiker in the Grand Prix at HOYS on my crazy coloured beastie (hair and all) and have him congratulate me on my awesome round!!! Then skip off into the distance with my SJ trainer who happens to be Mr James Fisher (one for you more mature folk out there ;-)

One day................. ;-) Lol!!

To jump in the main ring at Hickstead, ideally on a horse that i produced. Not that far fetched as i could try and qualify for the Amature class but even thats at 1.20m, you never know thou. Would like to be able to compete at some of the big shows as well.
Other than that to actually be able to ride properly every time i ride and not ruin the good horse i have. :o

My dream.....

To own a place with loads of stables, land and all the facilities you could ever imagine. What would I do with this...
1) breed from a few specially selected mares so my daughter has a stream of competition horses,
2) rescue horses that no-one else wanted or could keep any more and let them enjoy life as long as possible.
3) buy unwanted foals at sales and keep them till old enough to break in and sell on (only to 5 star forever homes).
Not have to ever worry about money to be able to do above.

Sigh! If only!

1.To find the perfect house in the Highlands with land and access to open countryside

2. To move my lad over from the Netherlands and to find two Highland Pony companions

3. To be able to saddle up and ride out of my yard into the Beauty and open space of the Highlands

To have a lovely little cottage in the middle of nowhere with an airy light art studio attached overlooking my stone built yard containing a horse each for hubby and me. Mine is a sensible palomino cobby pony that loves hacking jumping and general messing about. Possibly a Haffy :D We have hours of off road hacking and love to disappear all day long popping a few logs and having nice gallops :) I can see the horses from my studio where I would paint all the world class horses my clients are all famous of course ;P
(Oh, and I would have lots of Jack Russells lol

QUOTE] Got the rest though, and I can tell you that the grass is not always greener! It is jolly hard work, anyone who has this (unless they have an army of pixies at hand) will tell you, it is like painting the Forth Bridge, no sooner than you have everything ticketty boo then you have to start all over again;)

My dream - to find that army of pixies:D and shift what I have to some sunny island where I don't need fences, or have months of snow.:) Reality is to gulp down this cup of coffee and get out there to chop up the tree that fell down last night across my brand new fencing :(

THIS!!

And have my own mega-expensive gorgeous WB with the flashiest paces to take me there and the nicest temperament :D

I've got loads but one that seems to stick in my memory the most is to jump round the Grand National Course. (not in a race tho) lol

To have enough money to buy a top international showjumper and eventer and to spend my time travelling around the world to watch them.

Meet Red Rum!

Ride a horse from the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.

Work for William Fox Pitt.

Do BSJA SJ on my Andalusian, BE on him and Affiliated Dressage on him too!

Ok so this is a bit tongue in cheek since everyone else has given sensible answers..... Mine has to be Pegasus :-)

No more roadwork, AMAZING elevation and just think of the stud fees you could charge.

And i'm really too old to be posting things like this but what the hell. xxx

oh dear of you, I would help you if i could :) but am studious and all worky-like :)

Mind you, I am lucky OH has built stables and has a lovely amount of land. My baby boy is down there now and I will move my mare there this weekend (while he is away :D:D:D - yes he knows this!) he has a lovely 30 acre field across the road which is 50% moorland on a hill and 50% flat pasture with a gravel track running through it. I plan to make some xc jumps over there for the winter for me and my girlie. The field never gets poo picked (shoot me down now) but will be going through the whole rest and rotate and chain harrow thing and OH is building a barn conversion there so that will be nice too. Have to say I would do anything to not have to poo pick, I hate it!

Unfortunately I still have to work and hell will freeze over before I obtain an indoor sandschool but fingers crossed as of this weekend both of mine will be in the same place and 2 mins from home :)

Just come back in from meeting a client and loving reading this while I eat my very late lunch!

just to ride my horse for as long as i want, whenever i want and have fun :)

already doing that and ive waited a longgggg time to do that :)

*prays horse stays sound lol*

For me it was actually riding my terrified boy! Then my wish progressed to hacking out...then hacking out alone...then jumping him...then doing a SJing comp..then showing...then what I thought was my ultimate limit XC...but this year I finally hunted him and now I will finally say we've achieved everything I need to!! I'm utterly utterly proud of my lad, I was told to 'get rid' by so many and now I love love love showing him off and saying WE DID THIS TOGETHER!!!!:D
