Way too cheap, I'm in central Scotland and DIY livery around here is at least £40/50 week, that might include hay or haylage but nothing else.
I'd say £100/week would be nearer but not expensive!!
A friend of mine sent her horse to one a few years ago. she actually knew someone involved in the farm, so had knowledge of the set up. As far as I can remember it was very much like gamebird has said, the horses were well cared for and often kept for many years. They don't get rugged up so...
OP, I think we can all appreciate it's hard sometimes to see the big picture with horses, weeks, months, years can go by and things happen, piecing it all together is difficult, esp. with a young horse that is still developing.
I had a lovely mare years ago and she had an odd way of going that...
Bit of a late reply but I've had 2 horses that had abscess burst at the coronet and not immediately clear/become sound. One was round towards the heel, it drained for ages and she was a lot better right away (this was after weeks of vet/farrier not finding anything) but she wasn't 100% for a...
Really enjoyed your report, it took me back to the old days of this forum when loads of people used to post them. I miss all the eventing reports, especially now we don't have any horses out doing it anymore :(
What a shame about the injury though, fingers crossed for you he bounces back really...
I know the guy who runs this business and I'd recommend him. Edited to say it looks like german but his fb page is caledonian stable builders.

I agree with this, I have a TB x conn, she can be v strong and forward and would lean if you let her. More transitions and faster work can make her worse. I do exactly what scats says, keep everything very small, tiny trot, tiny canter, hint of leaning back to walk. Ride squares all the time...
For a bit of balance, I have one and I like it. It's a show treka 2009 I think, it had been refurbished by an equitrek dealer before I got it, so new living, new ramp and a few other things.
The ramp feels good and I love the shallowness of it, so inviting, When you are inside with the horses...
As said abscesses can take weeks (months?) to fully resolve in some cases. I've had different horses with rumbling abscesses that seem to move around the hoof, getting away for a bit and then re-erupting somewhere. I've had the same one come out at the coronet twice, weeks in between. Another...
I really agree with this too, in my experience when it goes wrong for younger kids there is often no way back. I know that's not what you want to hear but they aren't this age for long and it is totally crucial to get the right pony.
I've got 3 kids of my own and I've known (too) many kids...
I had a bad fall aged 12 or 13, came off and was kicked in the face in passing, luckily for me I didn't see myself but my Mum said afterwards she had to work hard not to break down when she did, I had to have plastic surgery which was successful so am left with a couple of tiny silvery scars...
I've had a few pairs of these, they are v comfortable boots but they move even when you get them on really tightly and they tear at the back.
I'm converted to flex boots now. They just work somehow and because they aren't really absorbent they don't get heavy (which helps them stay on) and you...
OP, I think a lot of us will be sympathetic, having been there! I had one youngster (16.2 wbxtb not a pony) that was so overreactive I lost sleep over leading him in and out to the field, he would be fine till he was running back and then standing up!! I had to get over my own fear and keep it...
I couldn't pts a 4 yo for the reasons you give. Young horses can be challenging and I've seen myself having to put in a lot of work with a couple we've had, esp. in the winter. However, they all came good eventually.
If you say it's learned behaviour, it's not really bolting, bolting is fear...
