Too emotional for a better reply at the moment just wanting to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the kindness, compassion and wisdom you have all shared with me. I am going to print this thread off and sit down with a friend and talk it all through.
Thank you
Looking for clear advice as my head is in a total muddle and I can’t see the wood for the trees.
My husband left a few months ago (I thought it was a happy marriage so I have been in shock and grieving the relationship). He was the far higher earner, although I work full time with a...
For me it would depend on the horses. Calm small herd of chilled out types with no shoes, wouldn't see it as a problem. Youngsters or active types, no chance. In either case I wouldn't want any hay or feed in the boxes.
I recently emailed Liz at Hoof Boutique with measurements and photos, she was so helpful and I was surprised at the boots she recommended after doing my own research, but they fit so well and I have done loads of hacking in them.
So I would suggest doing that.
As title - OH starting a new job at the end of the month which means I will need to get my own car. Thought I might as well get something I can tow with.
I have a post-97 license, so did my research and settled on a large saloon with a powerful engine, beasty enough to tow a lightweight...
That would come to £420 a month where I am stabled, inc hard feed, hay and straw and 5 day livery.
Would give liveries at least a month's notice to find somewhere else if they need to.
At my old yard I was very good friends with another livery; when she bought a trailer I paid the cost of keeping it at the yard, and we went to all shows and rides together. Also paid a little towards fuel. This worked very well. Not sure I would buy a box with someone though.
Not much help but I am going to be doing this in a month or so. Rather nervous about returning to yard politics and gossip, but very much looking forward to having someone to ride with and decent facilities.
Agree. My normally safe, happy horse becomes angry and dangerous (to the point where I would describe it as rage) if twitched, which I am glad I know. Personally would always explore other options for routine stuff for any horse.
Me and partner both work full time but both do lots of home working, so we usually don't need to leave our dog for more than 4 hours. If necessary we drop her at my partner's parents' house, as they are retired.
She is an older dog, the only one we have and quite an anxious thing so wouldn't...
Wow thanks so much for the replies, I feel so much better.
And yes, to clarify, sharer shares other horse, not Fat Hairy Cob.
She has agreed on four occasions now not to rug FHC, but every time finds a new reason. Will be having a chat - using info from the articles posted here (thanks) - and...
Hi everyone, I am a long time lurker on this forum but could now do with some reassurance or advice.
My horse is a slightly overweight hairy cob who lives out in a field with a shelter. Horse gets exercised very little due to certain health issues (horse not me). I have a fantastic sharer for...
