barefoot I am getting seriously worried PART 2

Well you have me there, in several of the scenarios and outcomes. I’ll have to go and think about why! I watched a TheHorse.Com webinar years ago which showed the MMPs causing the disintegration of the lamellae by dissolving the basement membrane and the decline in integrity of the hoof...

barefoot I am getting seriously worried PART 2

I have done exactly the same. Feigned stupidity. Was spoken to like I am four. It’s such a very, vitally important and serious subject. I have had the misfortune to inherit two EMS/Cushingoids which ended as you’d expect given the history and have got two Welsh ponies to 25 and 30 with no...

barefoot, I am getting seriously worried.

Utter rubbish. The vast majority of laminitis cases are endocrine-linked. Whether it’s systemic poisoning or linked to the diet (historically and cumulatively) The woman is very misguided in her thinking.

GTL owner [Content removed]. Says laminitis is never caused by grass or diet, only by farriers and their rubbish skills! She has a lot to say for herself and I wouldn’t go NEAR the place.

    Boggle- USA bound!

Bruised sole? Surely can’t be laminitis - that’d be devastating. Never ever let th3m get fat. Or above a 3.5 body score. Hope it’s nothing.

100% this. Your mare isn’t ready. She’s not rushing because she loves it. Back to basics until they are boring.

Correct way to hang a hay net? How do you hang yours?

From the floor or swinging freely in a small-holed net about mid chest height. All mine are unshod anyway.

    Field/stable camera

I have had an IeGeek 4G lte solar powered one for a few weeks now and am delighted. It was £54 off Amazon and while the setting up was frustrating I really happy with its performance. The £7 a month is unlimited data and the features are more than adequate for keeping an eye on the horses in the...

    Sad day

The positives being he was clearly in the best home a pony could wish for, living his days out as so few have the chance and with an owner who put him first. Keep those thoughts in your head ready to remind you. I’m so very sorry.

    Pony Books in the 1970's

If you can find a copy of Brownie, by Jane (Munro-)Gaymer, you’re in for a treat. It’s a bit like Black Beauty, in that it’s through the pony’s eyes, but it’s a delight and beautifully illustrated by Jane herself. There’s a massive thread exists on here by Badger Books where there are lots of...
