There are good and bad yards to go to, so do your homework! Make a list of what you want to get out of the experience, and make sure you ask the right questions. Good yards will ask you to go for assessment days, these are a two way street, so make sure you are happy too. MAKE SURE YOU ARE PAID...

Agree with this, good advice. Plan your events carefully, as it is expensive to BE! Do your research on the courses, ask on here, you will get good responses. Make sure you pick courses to suit you / your horse. Good luck!

We have hot horses.... and have to choose between training and competing at times. Sometimes they don't mix, if you are teaching a new difficult thing. Often though, if you are training at a higher level... to take a hot horse out to a lower level competition is exactly what is required, and...

Our boy has no soft tissue damage either. His MRI was very good. I have spoken to our vet again and he wants us to up his workload now, so I am keeping all my fingers crossed. Thank you for all the replies. :)

Thank you all :) Lets keep a HHO batch of fingers xd for all our horses with Navicular! He had an MRI and then the Bursa injection only 8 weeks ago... and he has had a very quiet time since then as his jockey has been away. But I'm hoping and hoping and hoping that he carries on feeling this...

My daughter schools her horses in the paddocks at home all the time. She prefers it to the ménage. They are eventers and we are lucky to have gentle hills which are great for fittening and naturally strengthen your horse. Her horses need to be able to do a decent dressage test, and SJ on grass...

That's a shame Thistle :( I think at comps that are sometimes bigger and more pressured than the children are used to, the nerves take over and they forget. In RC's it is part of the Team Managers brief to remind the team to thank organisers and volunteers, I'm surprised it's not in PC.
