I've not had any problems with the zips - but after having two pairs literally fall apart at the seams, after about 6 months I have now given up on them entirely.
I tend to favour either Sherwood, Rugged or Pikeur for breeches now.
I swear by either Tyne Muckboots (although, I find I can't wear them for more than 8 hours or they start rubbing) or Hunter's - which fit me perfectly as I have long, thin feet and legs and despite them no longer being made in the U.K, I've had no problems with my 'new' Hunters and working with...
Like Faracat, we use a compact Massey Ferguson for general around the yard things. I struggle with the big Massey we have - but even I can drive/reverse and tow things with the compact & that is saying something! ;)
My rescue chap - quite quickly in the beginning, as I think he recognised kindness. But, it has taken about two years, to really begin to know him better, understand his funny, odd quirks and form a 'real' partnership.
Honestly, don't rush it - it is something that will come with time and...
Ad-lib = never running out.
With my horse - I stuff full his haybar and in the winter, when he is in for longer I leave some on the floor too.
In two years, he has never, ever eaten all his hay that I've left - so to me, that is ad-lib.
Aloe Vera - both as a topical gel for wounds and a 'juice' in feed for general well-being and arthritis supplement. Cider vinegar for arthritis aid too. Sudocream for cuts/grazes. Vaseline as a barrier against the wet and mud for legs. Cold tea - topically to help with eyes and in feed as an...
I watched an internet of Micheal Morrisey beating up his horse whilst they were showjumping so showiumping must not be my cup of tea and I must not visit my SJing friend and her stud ever ... ;)
It is like anything in life - there are good, bad and indifferent examples of it.
I do practise NH...
Treat them like a horse.
He's one of the most important things in my life and I love to pieces - but I have to treat him like a horse, for his own well-being.
My horse is prone to doing the same thing - although he is such a wimp, last time we had to x-ray him, to make sure nothing was broken as he was literally unable to move and apart from a tiny bit of heat and swelling, we couldn't find any reason for such pronounced lameness (it had taken 30...
I have a Mark Todd full neck flyrug - my horse is a complete ASBO in the field and has a tendency to trash anything. This is on the third year I think - and only the neck straps have gone, which is easily replaced by some baler twine!
