Couldn't agree more with everything you've said!
With regards to having a horse PTS, fortunately I've never been in the position to have to make that decision, but as heartbreaking as it is, it's our responsibility as a horse owner to do right by them. I've seen many horses suffer because...
Hi,
I was just wondering if anybody could recommend me a freelance instructor to come out and teach me at weekends in the Kettering area at all?
Thanks
It must have been horrible for his owners, trainers, grooms and jockey etc for him to just disappear and not know what happened to him. Must still be terribly upsetting for them all.
I remember watching a film years ago about Shergar, don't really remember it all that well, but there was a...
Doesn't surprise me tbh, the old lady who runs it passed her peak a long time ago :( the hacking round there is lovely though! Where does your friend live? Can think of a few round the Northampton area.
I personally don't have a problem with the two horses being broken to drive as two year olds, at the end of the day, they're going to grow to be big, strong animals so for safety reasons, surely its better to do all the basic work with them before they're fully grown? Presumably after being...
Hi,
I don't think it's a riding school any more, just a livery yard.
The nearest one to that would be Harringworth Manor Stables in Harringworth near Corby, but it's not the best! Depending on where your friend lives, I'd reccommend Foxhill Farm riding school in Holcot near Northampton.
Would never deliberately hack out in the dark ever!
Have been caught out before though, headed back to the yard and it's starting to get slightly dark. This is when I find hi vis is most beneficial. A few weeks ago we were about 100yds away from the gate to the yard and it was starting to...
I have a skin condition called Pitiriasis Lichenoides.
I first developed a rash similar to chicken pox all over my arms, stomach and chest, back and thighs last February/March time. I was convinced I was allergic to Bentley as I'd only just bought him and he had started to cast his winter...
No, but I'd love for Bentley to be a model! Not bothered about making money off it but I just want to show him off as he's so handsome (in my very biased eyes!! :D)
I had an 18.3 shire on loan years ago who was earshy - this is the only way I was able to put his bridle on without being thrown halfway across the yard. The bridle literally only consisted of the headpiece, cheek pieces, bit and reins and no brow band or nose band - which may not be ideal
We have a set of Masta travel boots for Polly, had them for several years and they're not showing any signs of wear. They fit well and offer the protection where she needs it, and didn't cost an arm and a leg! I'll be getting a set for Bentley too when needed.
