I would be as she wasn't given permission, how would she like it if you cut off her horse's tail? But it's done, and the hair will grow back so I guess it's not worth stressing about.
Absolutely possible, one of my boys (black) has all red and the other (chesnut) has all purple. Looks lovely actually, I got everything I need from the local tack shop, but online shops are great too. If I need to buy online I use www.onlineforequine.co.uk
Right now mine are unclipped and in lightweights with no necks on warmer days, and if its particularly cold (or windy, we're on a hill) then they have their mediumweights, which have necks. At night they're stabled and the Welshie has a light stable rug whilst the Welsh x Arab has a mediumweight...
There us a lovely mini down the road in great shape - the woman who owns her will walk her around the village and lunge which seems to work fine. She is turned out with two shetlands however, so does get a chance to play. Strip grazing is worth a try

My mums always been like this. She had horses when she was younger but just kind of got on with it and never had any of what she calls 'fancy terms'. She had all very hardy natives who never had a vet bill and wouldn't know what a rug was if it slapped them in the face. I remember when she...
Lead around yard to get them used to surroundings, if other horses introduce them, I usually do it over the fence, and if they seem happy after a bit (you decide how long) I just bite the bullet and put them in together. Good luck!
