He has a flash of black through his tail too but it's not obvious :)
Wow, small world- chances are that your friend and I will cross paths at some point, there aren't many horses up here (approx. 100-150) :) It is a beautiful part of the world too :)
You can see it better here...
My tb x has always made me the envy of the yard as he is very clean and I can muck him out in 10minutes as he would never stoop so low as to kick a pile of poo, never mind step in, or sleep in it....his stable is always immaculate however my gloating chickens have come home to roost as my new...
Thank you all :)
I keep pinching myself as I really had felt that I wasn't going to get back to having a riding bug. Smith has spavins and although he is sound, I am wary of asking too much of him as he would always give 110% at cost to himself without question. Howie has given me the kick up...
In October 2012, I tragically lost my horse of a lifetime to colic and although I still had his companion- my semi retired tbx Smithie, who is my best friend and who got me through- I sort of lost my mojo for riding and I didn't think I would find another horse that had that something special...
Thanks- I think I go into overprotective, neurotic mummy mode at times :) He's ok and that is the main thing. I'm so used to bumps and scrapes on legs, rumps and even the odd bump on his head but I'd never seen one on the saddle before so was worried.
I suspect it is his latest "Get out of...
Haha they are little sods when they want to be- i don't think they realise that they are not full size horses compared to the others :)
Thanks for the replies- I do feel a lot more reassured :)
Thanks for the replies- I suppose he may have cast himself against the fence whilst rolling... not sure if the Shetland could have done it climbing over him as it is a very clean, straight mark but anything is possible! He sometimes plays with a horse in the field next door so possibly it's been...
Hi all, I haven't posted on here for a wee while but would like some opinions on this wound that I discovered on my horse's back on Friday evening.....
It is a single, clean edged (superficial) cut across his spine, right on the saddle- about a hands width behind his wither. A raised welt...
So sorry to hear your news. I remember your posts from before although like you, haven't been on here much in recent times. I lost my boy about a year ago after just 6years together, so I can only imagine how you must be feeling. RIP Rocky x
Thanks Linda :)
I have added the link to my thread about Domino below as it contains a picture of her with Min. According to his passport she was just Meiklecantly Domino, without the Lucky middle name. Really hope we can find her xx...
I'm so sorry... I know exactly how you feel- I lost my horse of a lifetime to colic last Sunday, after a 15 hour fight. Heartbroken doesn't cover it. Thinking of you xx
VERY unlikely in the Northern Isles! House prices here are in line with the national average unless you go out to one of the more remote islands and employment opportunities there are scarce (think island populations in the region of 100people max).
House prices here are not far off Scottish...
In a word.
No.
he has good breeding and is capable of far more than I could ever aspire to but he is happy here and doesn't care much about his breeding or capabilities so here he stays. There is not enough gold in the world to convince me to change my mind either. I can't take the money...
