No use really but my mare is the same! She never sweats on the way somewhere but is much hotter on the way back! I can't figure out why either so it doesn't really help you! She is generally a good traveller.

Are you sure it's a common maple? Sycamores and maples are difficult to tell apart if you're not sure and both are from the acer family.
