Hi
I’m looking for recommendations for the safest 3.5t horsebox builds. I only need to travel 1 horse at a time and don’t need anything fancy but need super strong and safe as my cob is not the best traveller (yet).
I’m having similar issues with my lad.
Things to check for -
Ulcers
Worm burden (including tape worm) and resistant worms
Sensitivity to grass (my lad is worse following rain / when grass is flushing etc).
My lad is having a scan soon for irritable bowel disease which I think is...
My gelding is always very fearful (and is perceived to be aggressive) of being trimmed by a farrier - seems to be related to the smells and I guess is due to the first time he was shod in Ireland. He doesn't have an issue with a barefoot trimmer (ie one who doesn'y smell smokey I guess).
There are some really good fb groups on ulcer management.
My boy was treated for ulcers (grade 2 &3) in May with omeprazole and I have had him on various supplements to support his gut and hind gut as he has lots of typical hind gut symptoms too. Science supplements gut balancer really helped as...
Hi, I'm due to move my guys to my own place in between Crich and Holloway in a few weeks but I'm struggling to find anyone we can hack with. My two are fab but need to build up slowly after a summer off due to me being busy. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to find hacking buddies?
:)
Ruth Fisher is great - she travels from near Bakewell or I think you can go to her yard. She's on facebook. She focuses on straightness work and is really sympathetic and encouraging and has really helped me with my two :)
Hi, I'm looking to get my boy scoped for ulcers but would like to get this done at home (we are in Derbyshire). Can anyone recommend a vet that does this? My investigations so far are not getting me very far!
My vet is also an osteo and he has talked about similar things when I have had him out to my gelding., think he quoted something like 1 in 3 geldings could have hind end issues as a result of scarring.
I have two staffies and a young lurcher x american bulldog. Staffies are absolute nightmares - one is manic, anti-social , bark monster who wants to walk all the time. The other is a big dumpling who wants to sit on your knee and lick your face all the time. Love them to pieces and would have a...
I have had saddles from SBloom before which were fab.
I've just got a new flat backed mare (wide coloured cob) and have gone for this option:
