I heard the solution is to tie something to their leg, like a wooden block so when they scrape it bangs and irritates they stop and it stops. Simples. And u are not associated with it. Never tried it myself....be interesting to know what ur pony thinks
My mums tb mare headshakes in the spring/summer it is def pollen related. Nose net help but the best solution has been antihistamine. Mum buys human loratadine from Morrisons, a quid for a packet. Katcha has 6 tablets a day and it was a revalation last summer. Vaseline round the nostrils on a...
Ring equifeast, they do a variety of different supplements. Calmers and some specifically for mares. I know a lot of people who have had brilliant results with them. Good luck
My mums TB has been a different horse in a myler comfort snaffle. Significantly improved her consistency of outline and contact. We bought from online bit shop, you can trial before u buy. Perfect as you can have all the reviews in the world but it has to be right for your horse.
Hi I keep my horse at Thornthorpe. Turnout is dependent on how wet it is. So we have had a bad winter, but summer is normally much better. Facilities do make up for it thou! There is a yard at menethorpe which has good turnout but no arena at the mo. Think there is a yard at bugthorpe which has...

Hi, I'm a physio and successfully treated a number of mums with SPD with core stability /pilates exercises. I wouldn't advise riding with this especially before you've passed 6 weeks after birth. After my baby I had no pain but waited 6 weeks to get on my horse even though I was desperate to...
I rode up to 28 weeks, only rode my sensible mare and stopped hacking out with people on nutty horses! U will know when the right time is to stop. My baby is 9 months now and I've managed to ride a fair bit (at least 3 times a week) despite her being exclusively breastfed. It is possible but u...
My mums mare headshakes in the summer. We use a nosenet but the thing that really made a difference last year was giving her loratadine, just Morrison's own brand, so cheap! But if it is not pollen related it may not help.
My mare has had MF for first time ever this year. Best thing I've found is mud feva goo from equifeast ...plus I put her on fight back for a week to help support her immune system. They give great advice too. The only thing I will say is I find chaps aren't perfect at keeping the mud out and the...
