Thanks Cally, lots of great info there!! I would be hoping to loan her locally, but all info I can get is greatly appreciated, as it is our first time loaning. I can retire her if it doesn't work out, we have the space to do so, I just think it would be a shame to retire her when she has so...
Thanks for that, I'll have a look now. Loan agreements are not very big over here. But I'm too fussy not to have one. It makes it much easier when everything is written in black and white. No margin for error!!!
I would always wear hi-viz when hacking, regardless of where i go. My mare is black, so if i have dark clothes on, we wouldnt be seen. I have a hi-viz jacket, as well as the usual velcro stuff, it only takes a minute to put on, why would you risk being knocked down.
Hi everyone, we have a lovely little welsh section A pony for my daughter, but sadly, of late, my daughter is out growing her. We dont want to sell her, as she is 20, so I was thinking of putting her out on loan. That wont be too easy either, as it's tricky to find a small enough child to ride...
totally agree, i'm the other side of that, up to recentely, i had a field of oldies, I couldnt possibly put a pony of that age through the sales, if you cant keep it, find it a good home. my poor oldies died but they had the best years of their lives wiith me, very well looked after. it's so...
My 6 year old, had her first show today, only tiny tots, but we had great fun, my ten year old jumped her too, but the friggin camera gave up, so poor pa has no photos to prove he earned his rosette, and i wouldnt ming but she bucked him the whole way round, so he soooo deserved a video!!!
<a...
I have had him since he was weaned, and the only reason he isnt castrated already, was that his testicles hadn't dropped, which has only happened recently. I'm not a complete twit, I normally castrate as yearlings, I have no use for a stallion, there are enough unwanted horses in the country...
Thanks, will try that, just as soon as he starts behaving himself again. Never heard of measuring from the knee before. Thanks!!!!!!!! Will let ye know what it says.
My normally well behaved 2 yr old stallion has transformed into a total pig, because of the arrival of Ziggy, a lovely 12hh pony MARE!!!! They are in seperate fields and he cant get near her, but I cant handle him at all since she arrived. I am fairly compenant at handling horses, and am not...
Hi everyone. I have a two year old stallion that I'm trying to figure out what height he will make. Firstly, I'm not very good at it, I've never gotten it right. My 4 yr old cob is 15.3hh, and i really thought he wouldnt make over 14.2hh. This guy is being castrated asap, wish the flies would go...
I'm not sure but I think if you go onto the Horse sport ireland website, you should get info there, seen as they are responsible for it. And I know it is recognised in uk too!!!! Hope that helps.
