Be Positive. Given your response I did some research and I think you are spot on! I am posting this link to help others, who may be unaware...but only look if your okay with dripping blood. Thanks Be Posistive, I feel a little better now. Just spoke with vet he said to see how it was in the...

Can anyone help with this bump/lump

Well yes Parker, at first we thought it was a bite, although there was quite a bit ofheat, we felt better when the vet thought there was no need to visit, just to hose twicw a day for 30 mins. It did go down, then tonight for no apparent reason it just blew up again and twice as bad, as now it...

Can anyone help with this bump/lump

Hi 10 days ago I found a huge lump on my mares chest, I mean huge I could not get it in both hands cupped. I considered it may be a black thorn prick or that she had ran into a stake. I ran the vet who said...hmm just hose it for 30 minutes twice a day, which I did and it slow went down...

    OAP riders

I am in my 80's and still throwing my creaky legs over and hacking almost daily, so you my dear are a mere spring chicken. If you (and you sound as if you are) truly passionate about horses, there is no reason (save health) why you should not have many many years left in the saddle.

IMO Every riding instructor should view this!I

I just read this on here and did not know how to bring it forward, so I thought I would post it again as many folk, would have been enjoying the break and not reading forums and so may have missed it. This is a post by the member Hilltopstables and I think it is fantastic. Not only is it very...

Buying a horse from the field..yay or nay?

Hmmm, I would not want to sit on it. Has anyone ever thought, this horse could have caused serious injury, if so, of course they would not want anyone to sit on it, as they would be liable. No one pays £5,000 then tries to sell, cannot and then halves the price and sells from the field...

    Sad! Just another Happy Hacker!!!!!

I did not want to high jack this post, so I have created a new thread named Happy Hackers are 2nd class riders with no brain. This is because a friend of mine had a run in with an event rider, who felt she was just that, A 2nd class rider. I am speechless that many fellow riders and horse...

Why is my horse so spooky!? Please, please Help!

Does seem odd that he only spooks with you, so I doubt that it is his eyes or a health issue. Something must have started this issue and such a shame as it will knock your confidence and ruin your rides. Could there be a possibility that it is made or getting worse as you may be unknowingly...

    Advice needed - Weeds

Okay, firstly this killer works on full grown plants, but as you are unable to keep the loivestock off the land, this is clearly no good. I cannot think of anything that will kill the weeds without harming the horsses, but someone may know of something. If the docks have gone brown they are...

    Advice needed - Weeds

We had new neighbours move into a field next door to us, who decided they would leave the land to nature. This done and in a short period of time when docks, thistles and every weed under creation went to seed, the wind blew them over to me. In 10 years having a strict weed regime I never had a...

    am i too old

TammyToo ^^^^ Totally agree with you regards TB's I have known a couple whom were as you say. I was speaking generally about TB's and the fact that too keep them in good condition, could be difficult for a novice. Temperament is most definitely the way to go, but again for a novice what appears...

    am i too old

Age has little to do with owning or caring for a horse, providing you have your health, don't mind hard work in all weathers and have a genuine compassion for horses. Owning or caring for a horse (unless in full livery) is 90% hard work and 10% pleasure. Also to care for a horse correctly is...
