What do you clean your tack with?

I use neatsfootcompound too, but my saddler told me to stop oiling my 80 year old saddle as the leather is falling appart. She warned me most oils contain an acid that softens the leather by breaking down the fibres. If that is the case with neatsfoot I don't know. I've used it for years. Could...

    Napping horse when hacking alone

Lots of ground work is best I think. Because maybe she DOES see you as a leader already but you're nervous yourself?? Groundwork is about bodylanguage and makes you think about yourself. If a good leader is nervous or scared he is unconciously telling the horse "don't you dare go there because I...

    bodyprotector

hello, I tried a racesafe and an airowear outlyne. last one fitted best. If there had been a Rodny Powel, i would have tried it, but there wasn't. I took the airowear home and tried it again, no problems getting on or off a pony. Tried on both a dressage and a natural horsemanship saddle, both...

    Suitable plant/tree/bish for hedge

Holly and conifers are poisonous to horses, as are oak. Bear in mind that a hedge needs to be very wide and therefore needs lots of space.

am i a mean mummy? mane pulling

Mane pulling is not meant to pull the manes out. It is meant to shorten it and you need a sharp tool to do it.

    menage problems.

If a menage is an indoor school (sorry, english is not my first language), your horse can get used to it in 3 or 4 times. First he needs to know what it is like to be indoors a big place (corridor of big stable for example). And in the indoor school you need lots of horses who are used to it to...

    The Black Stallion

A very special horse as he was the ONLY actor playing the Black. In most films they use several horses for one character (5 horses played one character in the horsewhisperer for example).

Introductory A Dressage, a few questions.

Your pony looks lovely and seems willing to work for you, but it looks like he is pulling the bit. The less aids you give the less stress there is. Let the pony do the work, he is the athlete. Good luck.
